Leadership at that position makes the entire d better.

I think he’s an excellent safety and future pro bowler. He can cover pretty good and he’s a great tackler. He can man up with tight ends or cover the slot or dislodge a man from the ball. Also he can play spy on a running qb

Ya rewards greater than the risk with Jamal. Maybe he gets beat deep every now n then but he will make many more big plays when he can roam free n the box

Love everything about Jamal Adams..One of my all time favorite Tigers...played the run as well as the pass..'slick' player as well..always made sure the refs caught the tail end of a 'confrontation' garnering a flag (great acting jobs falling backwards for extra effect)...Love him and miss him..Great Tiger!

Why are you worried about a "box safety", I learned this week the Jets are the shite now, since you have a QB that is the greatest player to ever put on a helmet. The trade to move up to get him will go down as the best move ever in franchise history.

He single handily brought some energy that the jets haven’t had in recent years as a Rookie. He’s going to be one of those guys that turn the tide for a team like the Jets. Ultimate alpha in an alpha city.

I think Jets fans will be happy with him. I remember him mostly as a great open field tackler. Excellent tackler and seemed to be in on lots of plays at the 2nd level.
As far as his acting skills, I think those were brilliant. Very heads up and insured that the refs called it.
I don't think he was a ball hawk like Matthieu (honey badger) but he is an excellent open field tackler and can pick up TE's and slot guys efficiently.

You LSU fans are awesome. Thank you.
Jamal Adams pundits can not say anything nor dispute any of yours responses. They've been thorough and outstanding.
We've got two badass SEC beast Safety's out of LSU & Florida in Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye. But Jamal Adams is my favorite by far.
We've got two #1 CBs as well in Trumaine Johnson (1A) and another LSU alumni Morris Claiborne who I love.
With our young nasty defense and now a truly special 21 y.o kid and Franchise Caliber signal caller Sam Darnold we are going to throne N.E as the AFC East powerhouse and win us a Super Bowl since dating back to Joe Namath. And Jamal Adams will without question be our Defensive MVP and Defensive/locker room Leader.

After his first two games it was like this for my gf and me(at every home game).
A play would go wide and and we'd be like "awww shite!" because the opposing runner was heading for daylight.
But then we'd see Jamal out there in perfect position and we'd instantly get a sense of relief... BEFORE he even broke down to make the tackle.
If that makes sense, that says a ton.

DefenseWinsChampionsFrom an N.Y Jets Fan: As LSU alumni; your overall thoughts on Jamal Adams? by DefenseWinsChampionsEdit.
Jamal,
Is that you?
No one else said it because it's stale and tired. Get some new material, dude.

To answer this question, two years ago during the LSU Bama game after Jamal made that interception, Gary Danielson was quoted as saying “Jamal is the smartest guy on the field”. Gary then quoted Lane Kiffin when asked about Jamal Adams to which Lane Kiffin stated “The closest thing I’ve seen in comparison to Jamal Adams is TROY POLAMALU” I think that should answer your “box safety” only fans.....

One of my all time favorite LSU players. The kid was a monster and was always near the ball. Great player and I think he will be a force in the nfl.
