why not let those guys rest up while letting your younger group get first team reps. Allow them to find chemistry now instead of during the season. Better to see what you have now then later. Make it a big deal to the team so that they compete like they are starters. Get the most out of them. No doubt we'll find out real soon.
agree. coach O is recognizing our lack of experienced depth and is acting to shore it up as much as possible.

I tend to agree, but would you also agree that not giving your starters on the O-line enough reps with an opening opponent like BYU is a risk? It's a double edge sword that can hurt you both ways.

If LSU comes out of the opening game unscathed, much credit will go to the LSU coach and his staff for overcoming a huge hurdle.
What a load of crap. He better come out unscathed or the season is over in week 1.

They can't hold him to same standard. Miles wasn't cajun CEO is.

yes I would agree. it seems that ALL of our OL need reps. but you and I do not know the players that well and it is possible that our 3 experienced guys do not need as much time and can afford to sit while the new guys get an audition.
there is no magic answer. I guess we'll see what happens in the next couple of scrimmages. after last years OL abortion at Wisconsin and Auburn I cannot help but think we will be a little better this year to start.

There it is.. the obligatory mention of Saban in every freaking post.
Speaking of Saban, there's this from Skip Bayless on Fox Sports.
Skip - "Saint Nick was Ain't Nick in Championship Game"
Skip Bayless "Ain't Nick's team shouldn't be no.1. Ain't Nick's defense keeps getting torched over and over again by teams like Clemson. Ain't Nicks reputation is on the line this year as a defensive guru, his team just keeps getting torched over and over again."

The numbers problem absolutely happened on his watch. Now if you're asking something like why is Malone the best left tackle we have, then that would be on Miles.
So O's responsible for Miles' recruiting mistakes, guys that quite academically?

Just hand it to Guice and run behind 76!

Miles was fired nearly 11 months ago, this has happened on Orgeron's watch whether you want to accept it or not.

Even when injured LSU starters on the O-line return, they will not have the time to fully develop chemistry as a unit. And BYU will show LSU's O-line no mercy.
Jeff Grimes has been here long enough that the OL should be fully developed and "3 Deep" full of SEC quality OL's.
We're not even close to that.

Penrod pauses from jacking off in order to bash O, then, looks back up at the picture of Miles, and resumes stroking it.

Lmao. O was named permanent head coach about 6 weeks before nationalising. You little kids are so cute in your continued bashing of O. Just like the Democrats still crying over Trump. Throw your fit little guy...throw it.
Posted on 8/7/17 at 10:00 am to MOT
Oh and dumbass, all this attrition is due to low character and in some cases low talented guys, all of which were recruited by Grimes and les

So Orgeron = Trump?
Checks out.
Checks out.

I expect an absolute drubbing of BYU. Something like 34 - 10. But, a win will do.

I don't know what time frame you're talking about when you mention nationalising, but it's a fact all of the attrition has happened after 11/26/16. That isn't bashing O, that's stating a fact. If the character and quality was so low, and he knew he had to run off one third of the players at the position, why didn't he address the numbers issue through recruiting? He kept the same commitments he inherited from Miles.

Lmao...yes...that sob O...how dare him not be able to pull in a big haul of ol after officially taking over several weeks before nsd. Hilarious. Typical O haters...JUST LIKE Democrats. Dumber than a box of rocks, and whiny like a bunch of nagging women, while throwing hissy fits like a bunch of 5 year olds
Posted on 8/7/17 at 11:24 am to Kedwards1
Yes, I'm clearly the one nagging and throwing a hissy fit in this exchange.
Will you attempt to answer any of the questions and have a discussion?

Finally found the excuse they'll stick with.
Perfect.
Its amazing how the whining and excuse making already has started. If LSU can some how beat BYU in Houston, its a testament to the new coach.
The 12th ranked team in the country, 13 point favorites and if they can just somehow escape unscathed against the mighty Cougars, the new coach is showing he's the next great college Head Coach. LMAO
Half of this board will think 8-4 is a very strong year for the new coach and they will have every excuse allotted to them for proof.

I'm sorry, I tend to have a difficult time trying to have rational conversations with complete dumbasses. The fact that you blame O for this past recruiting class, and suggest that it is his fault he didn't come in a few weeks before signing day, and flip some top OL recruits.
I'm not in the camp where lsu is in trouble on the O line. Barring major injuries, they will be fine. I expect Lsu to have a very good season, a 10-2 mark is what I look for. If they have a bad season, then fire his arse. Just stop with all the everything and anything is negative and O's fault before we even play a gd game. Geez
