I've heard that Tate is surprisingly pro greek life. He's even opened the door to some of the ones that were kicked off campus to have some sort of hearing to get them back on.

I guess he knows where the majority of the donations come from, unlike the last administration.

They will.

We parked in lot 404 last game and a what I’m assuming was a fraternity was m in some of the green space around there.

Their spot was trashed.

Great. Nothing like these fricks ruining the parade grounds.

I remember 07 Florida gameday was on the parade grounds and it was incredible. Family’s everywhere and it was clean

In ‘16 I remember a song blaring from speakers “I fricked to bitch ni**a” and a bunch of spoiled kids in suits talking shite.

Then the next day it looks like a shite hole homeless camp with all the trash

Should have kept them off of the parade grounds.

You wanna act like assholes fine, do it at the houses.

get what you're saying, but that just goes with the territory. It isn't just LSU, it's everywhere. LSU has always in the past taken this into consideration and the campus is cleaned up by Sunday afternoon. I'll take this slight negative over destroying the wild tailgating tradition that made the game day experience so awesome in the past.

And no, I don't like the trash either, and me and my crew always pick up after ourselves, but I'd rather have massive tailgating on the Parade Grounds than not.....

Also, in the past, for big games, you'll have 150K+ people crammed on campus, and never enough trash cans to go around.

I think some of the 40 dollar parking fees around the Parade Grounds went towards trash pickup afterwords, but I'm not sure....

I'm in favor of bringing back the tailgates to the Parade Grounds.

Downvote away if you must, but that's how I feel.

I’m glad they are back on the Parade Grounds. That’s where I tailgated i my fraternity and it was awesome. We never trashed the parade grounds though despite only having 2-3 cans. You know why? We brought contractor trash bags and made pledges change the bag once the cans were full. Yes did we have a stack of bags at the end of the day? Sure. But it was also a frick load better than mounds of trash.

In 07 the parade grounds was 90% Greek. Everything on the West side of the grounds was fraternities as we couldn’t tailgate at the houses.

Around 16 was when the fraternities were allowed to go back to the houses. What you hate are the general student population for the most part.

One of the most fun I ever game day I ever had was on the parade ground for Bama 2014. Brought 3 buddies from Big 12 country to the game. All Greek. 2 from K State and 1 from Nebraska. Met some people Friday who we hung with Saturday. Don’t remember what house, but there was a band from Texas playing red dirt on the far west end of the grounds. Lead singer was 1000% coked out and ridiculous. Full service bar. All that. There was no more we tailgate hard in the Midwest after that. That set the standard.

LSU was getting complaints

Do tell.

The behavior that got the Greeks banned from the parade grounds just became spread out all over campus. More folks were getting exposed to it. More complaints.

The once legendary tailgating scene at LSU has been slowly having the life sucked out of it.

Well to be fair, our overall tailgating scene never changed. Only the Greek life tailgating was toned down by moving them away from the parade grounds. They all still went hard it just wasn’t out in center in the heart of campus. All of the other tailgates are pretty much still as strong as ever.

I've read this thread and an article on this, and I can't find out WHEN the fraternities will be allowed to tailgate. Is it for this weekend's game?

Assumption wrong. Greeks have been tailgating in the fields by U-High for the last few years. But you probably probably think that everything bad comes from Greek life so go ahead and keep complaining. Maybe you can get that random group kicked out of that spot so you don’t have to see them when parking your car.

Read my posts. I’m a former fraternity member, I generally support the fraternities, have lambasted the LSU administration for their anti-Greek stance, and think having the Greek tailgates in the parade grounds make a better game day.

However the last few years Greeks were allowed in the parade grounds they left them disgusting with piles of trash.

They need to bring their own garbage bags and make pledges change them. Maybe if there are piles of trash bags on the parade grounds as opposed to piles of actual loose trash the LSU administration will provide more cans.

Eta
And the my assumption wasn’t because it was a big group of college aged kids, but because it was a bug group of college aged kids with a much smaller sub group in coat and tie.

Lol that’s never happening. You think a bunch of pledges drunk as frick on gamedays are going to clean up after themselves. The parade grounds are typically cleaned up by the following day. Not a big deal

I agree with your overall sentiment but it’s 18 year old college students it’s just not going to happen. Some fraternities do a better job at cleaning up than others. And whatever trash is left there, it’s all picked up by Sunday afternoon. Not that’s it’s right but it’s not like the place is left trashed for a week
