This whole feel good story and wanting O for the coach. He is not the best choice. He isnt the 3rd best choice. Not the 5th best choice.

Idk which route we will go but I really like Fleck, and Herman. I also like the NC HC. Those three need to be called and LSU needs to have long conversations with em. Herman is still my man though and NO WAY you fire coach O in fact you make him recruiting coordinator and give him a raise. Especially if he can beat bama. If we can start connecting on those long balls watch out. The Bama game is gonna be a good one no matter what. These guys are gonna be ready for that game. Can't wait... We have some tough matches coming but I don't think anyone will out play us for the rest of the season so we will have some ball games folks. This is gonna be a great rest of the year!! GT

Did dabp have a 10-25 at another conference school?

I hear everyone talking about writing his contract in a way we can get rid of him easily if he fails.

That's doesn't instill a lot of confidence. It would be a wasted 3 years.

You guys are handling this situation very emotionally. Get the best coach you can get. If that's O, I would assume we struck out on 7-10 other options.

We should not be hiring a high risk guy just because he loves LSU and LA.

Really? I think USC probably felt the same way.....it appears their "choice" wasn't the 10th best!!

Their hiring of the past few coaches is because their administration is even more dysfunctional than us. Not the greatest comparison or whatever point you were trying to make

It won't be hard at all. He beats Bama, he already gets the inside track. Get us to the SEC championship? I would personally lobby for him. And I think everyone else would too.

But THEN.....USC is looking at him as only an interim coach, remember that they passed on him once. Do THEY make him an offer? Or Herman?

Scratch Jimbo off of my list, unless he can bring Jameis Winston with him.

Curley Hallman could not bring Farve with him.

If he does a great job, and he probably will, and they do not make him head coach, he gone.

-Does Lane Tiffin, Steve Sarkisian and Nick Saban know Coach O well enough to recruit and coach against him?
-How good is Alabama's coaching staff?
-Where has Alabama's recruiting been ranked the past 5 seasons?
-What is Alabama's record over the past 5 seasons?
-Where is Alabama's football team ranked this year?

After answering the questions above, if Coach O can run the table and soundly defeat Alabama then we should hire him. Coach O's first game at home against a now 3 loss Missouri team(lost to Georgia, West Virginia and LSU) was impressive because of how well our offense and defense performed to put up a 42-7 win against a weak Missouri team with a first year head coach.

The next few months of LSU football is a unique and great opportunity for Coach Ed Orgeron with being from Louisiana brings lagniappe.

If he leads this team to a win over Bama and an SEC championship, it will be an easy decision.
