THIS! But it's easy for them because his own home school, you know the one he chose over Bama takes the bait and runs with it. Piling on a great guy who chose to come to LSU when he could've went to the Red team. People are watching, listening, and if I were the next great back out of LA I would think twice about coming play in front these back stabbing fans. Frick you people falling for this shite, and piling on an LSU player in this manner!!

I heard him say that the game was slower than he expected. That's not saying it's slow.

It's not all the big of a difference to be completely honest. Especially for an elite athlete like fournette. He also might have an easier time not running against 9 in the box every snap.
Exactly!

The formations that were ran last night were the exact plays he ran over and over at LSU. He's not learning anything new!

You're so right. Fournette's words were spot on. He can do no wrong because he chose LSU over Bama. Good God the obsession over Bama.

Misquote much?

quote:

"It's a lot slower than I really thought," Fournette told NFL.com after the Jaguars' 31-24 victory over the New England Patriots on Thursday night. "That's how I've been since I first got into the NFL. A lot of people were like, 'It's going to be fast.' But by me playing in the SEC, that kind of helped me a lot.

"I think, to me, it was really easy."

Do you need someone to break down what he said?

Ok. He said the SPEED of the NFL was really easy. That sounds much better. No overconfidence at all. Totally different. Thanks

Oh cool, is this another thread by LSU fans ("greatest fans in the world") where we rip apart a former player for something innocuous?

ote:Slow down there big fella. I think he was referring to the speed of the game and how the SEC prepared him for it. He said "It was really easy". I don't care what conference you played in in college, this is the NFL, and you're a rookie, behind a bad offensive line. Confidence is a good thing. That's overconfidence, borderline arrogance to make a comment like that, in the preseason, after you averaged 3.8 yards/carry against backups.

Or you can actually read the quote and understand what LF said instead of just reading some BB thread title.

Seems like he's talking about the speed of the game. Plenty of LSU players have come in and played well from the beginning. So maybe he's right. The speed in the sec and being coached at LSU made the transition easier.

Fools.

What he said is he was told the NFL would be much faster than anything he has ever played against. It is probably what 100+ people have told him.

But in his first game, the NFL was not as fast as he imagined and as others have built up because he played in the SEC (my note: how in the frick is THAT purple and gold glasses on?). The SEC has some really good talent, a bunch of good teams, and one Elite team, Alabama.

Note: LF implied the game is still much faster but not as much as people have built it up due to his SEC experience.

I know a BUNCH of people here just HATE LF, but I would put down the Hate Bats on the guy. He said what he meant and it was quite clear if you read the entire quote.

I can care less what he says. All I'm saying is you know how people perceive things and the media will run with this statement the minute he has a bad game. That's just the way it is.

I stand behind Leonard Fournette with this, 9 carries for 31 yards and 1 TD against 2nd and 3rd stringers isn't very good but when he's got 2nd and 3rd stringers blocking for him and they have their backup QB in so they are going to key on Leonard and it's going to be harder. (We know this from Alabama) I'm not worried, I know Leonard will be very successful in the NFL

Didn't he predict that he would win the Heisman at LSU before he even took a snap?
