About the only good that can come out of this is if it is used as a cautionary tale for these young guys now getting a ton of money and being able to live a really fast life and the exposure, choices, and consequences that can come with that.
I'm sure poor people have also killed people in car accidents as well

He’s a kid. Kids do dumb shite. Yes it was a major mistake but it’s not like he was drunk at 4am or planned to hurt somebody.
He needed to reap the consequences of his mistake that led to a death of a man. But life wasn’t over for him. He’s just a kid. All too much to bear apparently and that’s sad. Just because his mistake led to a death, that doesn’t mean he deserved the same fate. This is heartbreaking stuff

I guarantee if you could talk to that man he would absolutely not want Lacy to have his life ruined over this, especially not have him off himself because of it. Sad all the way around.

Awful… I wish our fans hadn’t by and large turned on him to such an extent. IMO he was behaving carelessly and then panicked; nothing malicious or evil.

He was a 24 year old man. That’s not some 16 year old kid, who just started driving and made an inexperienced mistake driving.
He was driving recklessly and foolishly.
He fled the scene. That is NOT a mistake. That is a choice.

How could you know this?
He fled the scene and didn’t come forward for a month.

He was 24.

Are you serious? We have the dumbest (and weirdest) fans …

He’s no kid. He’s a grown man with a poor decision making process til the end. No accountability and nothing but shattered lives in his wake.

Wasn’t it like 10am? Wasn’t it said he was going to a workout?
If I have bad information then I’ll take it back but it never seemed to me that anything was in play other than reckless driving.
Fleeing the scene was the greatest crime, and, even then, I doubt he thought anyone died. But none of it matters now anyway. A 24 kid who had his whole life ahead of him is dead and that should be incredibly sad to anyone.

Exactly. He still had his whole life ahead of him. Very sad all around.

I understand you’re trying to sound logical and rational, but really you’re just making yourself sound like a sociopathic a-hole who’s not capable of empathy.
Do better. The world would be a better place with less a-holes and more people who care about humanity and try to make everyone else better off instead of just themselves. Empathy and ability to feel another person’s pain would help you to go a long way towards that.
Un-empathetic? Sure. Sociopathic? I don't agree.
Why is it so bad to respect a person's decision that they simply don't want to live anymore? I wouldn't encourage anyone to kill themselves, but if that's a choice they want to make, its their choice. I'm not going to act like they were some kind of horrible victim who had their life stolen from them in a case like this where it was clearly conscious choice.
I certainly feel sad for the random emo high school kid who takes his life after his girlfriend breaks up with him. This is not that though. This is a grown man who was looking at the loss of his career and serious jail time.
I'm just saying that society would be a better place if humanity in general could stop looking at every situation with knee-jerk emotional reactions and look at life though a more logical, rational lens. If that makes me a sociopath, then that's a weird take on it.

Horrible news. So sad.

He was 24 years old. That ain't no kid. Most people are a year or two into their career at that age.
Two things can be true: He allegedly made terrible decisions that contributed to the death of someone else, and him taking his own life is extremely tragic and unfortunate.
Hopefully this story is used as a cautionary tale for other athletes and young people.

You must have missed the thread when that news first came out.

I don’t know. But I also am not going to make definitive statements like “he wasn’t drunk”
There’s no way to know.
