This is so sad. Just awful heartbreaking news.
I can’t recall a former LSU athlete ever committing suicide. We’ve certainly had former athletes and coaches pass away, but I don’t recall any suicides.
So sad.

But lacy is the only one who was most recently associated with lsu not to mention more or less a star. Very shocking.

Sad all around. Prayers for his family and the family of the guy who died in the wreck.
Totally understand how hopeless it must have felt. What he worked and sacrificed years of his life for was gone. Future went from hopeful to dreadful. But there was still a path for meaning and life.
Don’t know if there was an update on chances of success or evidence against him or that NFL teams were hands off

Because like a lot of grown men here he worships LSU athletes and believes because they play ball they are somehow above everyone else and deserves the benefit of doubt more than others. Sad he’s gone, suicide is never the answer as it only creates more pain for those around you. It’s actually very selfish.
Most truthful post I’ve ever read on here
Happens all the time. Ever since I’ve been reading and posting.
If you replaced lsu on their jersey with say Alabama or Tenn or anybody else watch how fast these peoples options change.
Sad situation here.
Feel terrible for his friends and family.
Life cut too short

Did a cause of death ever come out for Josh Maravich?

The only selfish person here is you for having absolutely no empathy. Please ban this person. Be thankful you’ve never had your own mind as your enemy.
This is a tragedy, and Kyren has likely been tormented for months. Prayers for his family.

Such a sad situation on all fronts. Any lawyers here know how much actual served jail time he was likely looking at?

This thought really bothers me. It's very easy to say suicide is never the answer when you aren't the one feeling the suicidal ideation.
People who kill themselves are not in a position where they have the ability to overcome whatever it is that's ailing them. That's precisely why they commit suicide
They are in such a dark place that the line of thought is "I understand how selfish this is, but I'm in such pain that I'm willing to forgo any and all positive aspects of my life." It might not articulate like that in their heads, but If you haven't been there, you can't understand the thought. To be able to go against every instinct you have and end your life requires you to be sick and in pain.
Honestly, it's selfish of ignorant people to make it about the family and not about the sick person. It has nothing to do with them.

Can’t imagine acting like a man who committed suicide didn’t suffer enough in this world already, and using his dying act to make a point that he’s selfish.
The lesson for everyone is to extend empathy and compassion, and to know the people you love and care about. Prayers for his family.

Well, it is never the answer. And as I’ve said in this thread, i have been suicidal and my brother committed suicide.
But agree generally with your other points. People that refer to it as “the ultimate act of selfishness” really just lack understanding. It’s impossible to describe the overwhelming sense of hopelessness when you are in that frame of mind.
