He knew he was guilty and did not want to spend an extended number of years in prison, so he chose one of the options available and permanently checked out.

He's responsible for the death of another human being. He couldn't handle the guilt and the consequences of his negligent action.

Nothing else needs to be said........

Nothing else needs to be said? Are you freaking serious? Has anyone around you ever been sick? Needed help? Needed forgiveness?

Mourn with those who mourn.

It's a shame for sure and prayers to his family. Horrible decision he made leaving the scene of an accident where another man lost his life. He would have been way better off just owning his mistake. Sad day for everyone involved nobody wins in these situations.

It’s sad that you have almost as many downvotes as upvotes on this post. There’s nothing wrong or insensitive about what you said. It’s the truth.

I pray his family and friends will find peace through all of this.

No matter how bad things are this is never the answer.

A tragic situation made worse.

People who kill themselves are not in a position where they have the ability to overcome whatever it is that's ailing them.

This isnt universal. Many young people kill themselves over a breakup, or simply lacking coping skills.

I have two acquaintances who lost sons because of a breakup. That is very selfish.

I feel for the family left behind. They have to be blindsided.

Because nobody knows who the guy is and it happened a while ago. It’s not some nefarious plot, it’s fricking common human behavior.

It’s a terrible, tragic situation for everyone but you goofballs want to make sure you’re nice and high on that horse to say, “hey I’m remembering the traffic wreck victim first, look at me, look at me!!”

Shut the frick up.

This thought really bothers me. It's very easy to say suicide is never the answer when you aren't the one feeling the suicidal ideation.
What if I have been there? You don’t know me or what experience I’m speaking based on. What if I was in that position before but the thought of my wife and child living out the rest of their lives without their husband and father was enough to make me as a man willing to fight any demons. Willing to put my own feelings aside to protect the ones I love and know love me.

Attacked the kid for making a mistake, and it came to that.

If you really think he did this because the peanut gallery was attacking him, you are a complete moron. He knows what happened that night and likely knew his career was over and was going to prison for causing the death of another human.

That is what led him to do this. Not the legitimate criticism he got.

So sad. I lost my 75 year old father in January to suicide.

So because the innocent man who “nobody knows” wasn’t an LSU football player means he doesn’t matter and shouldn’t dare to be mentioned??

He was, repeatedly. On here, in the news, online. Then the news cycle moved. Now Kyren is dead and people are reacting to that.

That’s how life works.

That's sad.

Even if found guilty, he probably would not have spent much time in jail and may have had a shot at the NFL in the future.

Guess the guilt and stress was too much.

I would say that I’m happy for you that you were able to avoid committing suicide. But also, not everyone is able to overcome their issues or see past whatever is hurting them.

To say someone is selfish for committing suicide is essentially saying they don’t care about the people that love them. This is untrue. It’s not so simple.
