Lol that doesn’t refute what he said or change the fact that 95% of the Simmons hate on the Rant is based on a lie. The other 5% is usually some ignorance about him not playing hard when the guy led the team in every category of relevance and anyone who has the slightest clue knows you can’t do what he did while being lazy. You guys are laughably ignorant and silly.

No sane person will take Simmons talent for granted. But to call him a Tiger is just wrong. This guy spent exactly one semester attending classes and bitched about that the whole time. The reason a lot of people don't like him is his attitude which sucked. Not his fault but he also brought ridicule down on the school because we couldn't get in the tournament with him. He didn't live on campus, had a film crew following him around, didn't socialize with any of his teammates and destroyed team chemistry. Also never hustled on defense, especially toward the end of the season, insisted on playing at the top of the key instead of posting up people. He was basically just trying to hone the skills he thought he would need in the NBA and not giving any thought to what the team needed. Of course there are a lot of players like that these days.

"Former LSU Basketball star Ben Simmons"
I guess in a couple of years you will post...
Former LSU football star Arik Gilbert.

So every one and done in basketball didn’t really play for LSU? Got it, real intelligent. Comparing him to Gilbert makes no sense at all btw.

Dude is a fraud. Frick him. Also, don’t call him a Tiger. He could give a rats arse about LSU.
Hey, he saved his team a ton of embarrassment by opting out of the NIT.

Do you claim Guice, The Diesel, Ramsey Dardar as Tigers.
Simmons has never done or said anything,to rational fans, to embarrass LSU.

Ben Simmons is elite at everything except scoring. He's like what Rajon Rondo was for the Celtics in 2008. A 6'10" player with All Star skills who cant shoot.

quote:No I said it was mainly his lousy attitude. Let's compare him to Cam Cameron who is also a one and done. Cam never complained about ANYTHING. He was a team player and tried to fit into Wade's defensive and offensive schemes. It was obvious that the kid tried to give his best each and every game whereas Simmons definitely towards the end of the season was just marking time until he could leave. I hate the NBA's rule and wish they would either take players straight out of high school again or at least let them stay two years in college. That isn't Simmons fault but he didn't have to go to college. He could have played pro ball in either Europe or Australia and gotten paid and his main complaint was that the NCAA wouldn't let him be paid. His other complaint was having to attend classes and pro ball overseas would have fixed that also.

The fact that Simmons would never acknowledge was that he was making money by being in college at LSU. LSU allowed the film company to follow him around which he eventually got paid for. He got much more publicity in the states which stood to make him more money in endorsements, kept him in the limelight and assured him a high draft pick in the NBA. He might have gotten those things anyway but he certainly got a great deal more publicity on the sports show than he would have if he was overseas.

Your assumption is right, i would literally rather watch old people knitting blankets, or CNN over watching an NBA game. I quit watching the NBA when the greats like Jordan retired.

We needed him to post up closer to the basket so he would draw the defense in and we could play inside out. We had competent guards and didn't need another 6'9" one. The games he did do this he and LSU were very successful because the guy did have a lot of talent and could score close to the basket.

Ben Simmons v Atlanta in the first game of their series:
7-7 from the field, 3-10 from the FT line fir 17 points in about 37 min.
He got 4 steals, 10 assists and 4 rebounds all on D.
They lost 128-124 despite their star Embiid scoring 39 points in 38 minutes. Embiid got 9 rebounds, and made 14-15 from the line. Sone here though maintain Simmons is their mvp when in reality he’s a good player who facilitates but who isn’t a huge scoring threat.

quote:well for starters, the team needed a guy that didn’t hide against Oklahoma in the second half and wasnt scared to put up the final shot with the game on the line against Marquette.
