Forgive me for not knowing, but what happens to Jaden Hill next year?

He can come back if he wants. It's up to him based on where he gets drafted. I'd imagine with his injuries, he's probably going to take what money he's offered and try his hand at the next level.

He’ll get drafted and play in the minor leagues

Gets drafted high and leaves or doesn’t and stays.

What are the chances he comes back for us? I guess it all depends on his draft position.

No chance he comes back. I bet he doesn’t even pitch next season. Someone will still take him in the first round.

He'll get drafted, take the money, and go to his pro teams system and get the rehab he needs there.

Nothing against the kid, but it’s hard to see how he’s a first-rounder given what he has shown on the mound. Sure, he’s a physical specimen who can hit 96 on the gun and has a great change up to go along with it. But how many guys did we see throwing 95+ gas in the tourney? There must have been a dozen pitchers equally impressive just in the MSU/ND, Ark/NC State and LSU/TN series.

MAYBE a quarter of those guys have Hill's frame and feel for a good secondary pitch. He's a great prospect, and will be very rich soon.

With the coaching he could get in the minor league system this could translate to a long career as a shutdown closer in the Show.

That's why he will get drafted high because of that "could".

Also this.....you can't coach that type of size and strength that can translate to pitching an inning 3-4 days a week sometimes.....especially in October.

I think he’s taken in the bottom half of the 2nd round and he goes pro. If he hadn’t gotten hurt he could have been a late 1st.

He was ranked top 10 coming into the season and is still ranked 37th and 39th in fangraphs and MLB rankings at this point. I think he goes between 30 and 36 in the comp rounds to a team who can afford to wait on him to rehab and develop.

You answered yourself here. Not many draftable prospects have a ++ secondary to go along with that velo.

Jaden Hill's college career is over unless he wants to prove he can stay healthy a complete season. Baseball drafting is solely based on projection. There has to be production to go with it but he will be drafted high because of his spin rate and stuff. Jaden Hill will be climbing the ranks if he stays healthy. He just needs to learn how to be a pitcher, not just a thrower.

3% he comes back

And even if he did he prob wouldn’t even be available to pitch until April/May at best. Doesn’t seem worth it if I were him

There is no unless....his career is over in college. I mean hell he is simply a closer at the next level....that's pretty much all he has ever been. You can be that while remaining "a thrower"....learning to be a "pitcher" is incredibly important for a starter or long relief guy. I think at the next level Hill is a closer.

Coming back to LSU wouldn't benefit him at all.
