This was the last one. Every coach that ever produced winners we get rid of. I know I’ll get downvotes but I would have rode Ed O another year. You never saw a team of his unmotivated. Kelly is a dinosaur and will never win in this league. He didn’t do it at ND in no league. So now we have 10 years while others pass us by.

Good post.....college sports are on the way down anyway. It will be dominated by money and legal issues, which it already is.

TV revenue drives all sports, and that will not change. I still love my teams and always will, but the deep-rooted passion is gone.

100%

Downvote all you want. But O was given a raw deal. The top 3-4 players all sat out in 2020. 25% crowds. Nobody really gave a shite.

2021 you had covid testing and players having to miss games. 3 of the 6 losses in 2021 were by 6 points or less including an OT loss.

For someone that put together the greatest season in college football history, he deserved one more normal season

At the end of the day, LSU is just a school for kids. The LSU Football team is a semi-professional football club that pays its players. The players are also kids, so, they aren't going to be as dedicated to the Purple and Gold as much as they will be devoted to the NIL money.

It is a perfect combination to make anybody lose a bit of their rabid fandom, especially after the lifelong fan begins to age into his 40 or 50s.

You are experiencing a very human reaction, and, you might be on the right track. It might be better for some of us to disconnect from some of our rabid fandom of LSU.

Mother of God the revisionist history of O is getting preposterous. Do you guys not remember getting shite stomped at Kentucky and Ole Miss? Losing to a bad Auburn and Arky team. It was time for O to go he wasn’t salvaging his tenure

Don't let it ruin your weekend. No matter if they win or lose, I still gotta go to work on Monday. Their success or failure doesn't benefit or harm me in any way. It's merely entertainment on a Saturday night. Once the show stops being entertaining, I simply turn the channel and carry on with my night.

You are correct.

Losing to 4-8 A&M and 5-6 loss USC is much better. Especially paying that coach 7.5mill for a decade. Not to mention getting outscored 73-18 over the last 6 Quarters of football

The Kelly years will be harder to overcome then the Orgeron years.

The "we should have kept O" folks are literally the dumbest motherfrickers on this board. If you can't see that O needed to go, you are literally retarded. Just about anybody would have been better than post-2019 Orgeron

O screwed up a lot but hiring Bo Pellini was probably the nail in his coffin. If he had hired a competent DC he might have given himself a little more time to fix things. Not saying he would have been successful fixing his problems though.

Nothing I said was pro BK but acting like O was going to turn anything around is insane

Just some rational reasons for not doing that.

Ed's issues made him unable to recruit which was his strong point getting the job.

Ed himself had given up. He was not going to be extended and that is the deathnell for a HC on the recruiting trail.

Ed shot himself in the foot a couple times on coordinator hires which was a sign of him giving up. He put no energy in to them.

Grass is greener mentality.

Ed Orgeron ran this program into the ground and BK salvaged some respect for the program.

A lot of you IDIOTS are saying you missed Les Miles. Multiply the “fire BK” talk by 50, that’s what we had when Les Miles was coaching. He had the most boring and predictable offenses and could not adjust to the times.

BK is fine. He’s not Saban. With even a decent QB this team would have at most 2 losses. LSU was dominating A&M, so maybe just one loss.

Apparently, due to what some of the Rant is saying that "we can't afford to buy out his ridiculous contract, and there are no coaches out there to hire", these Kelly years will last much longer than the O years, and the attrition will be compounded. The results won't be pretty.

Did same many years ago at the backend of Miles tenure. This is just entertainment and nothing else. If they win, good. If they don’t, whatever. It’s not worth it.

I'd rather watch LSU baseball or LSU Womens BB than LSU football. Sad, but true

NIL and transfer portals have ruined dynasties

Every year will be a dog fight for every team
