Nabers did all of the hard work on that play,

Nabers also dropped a big throw from Nuss as well...if you can take away then you can give him the yards for the dropped pass

For the most part the guy made some plus throws and looked good. It’s not all about stats.

Both QBs looked fine. JD wasn't 100% healed which was obvious. He had to knock some rust off after the first drive per usual slow start like all year.

The good news is BOTH QBs looked good, and both showed things they need to improve.

LSU can win with either one, but it is imperative to have a competent backup when your #1 guy runs as much as Daniels does.

Nuss' role out to the left completing the pass was NFL material.

Maybe it was Nuss’s timing and delivery that allowed that play to happen.

You just casually left out the 65-yard bomb he threw to Nabers that was dropped.

Take away Nabers 75 yd Td, which was basically a running play

Now add the one he dropped.

Taking a break from this type of talk. See y’all next year when it comes to QB talk.

Then what about the long dropped TD that went right through the hands?

If you take away every single YAC yard for both OB’s you will see that Nuss’ stats will be better than JD.

Running plays are that much more effective when Nuss is in the game.

I always love the "take away this / these play(s)" argument.

If a QB has 120 yds rushing on the day and on the last play of the game to let time expire runs backwards for 80 yards and ends the game with 40 yards rushing, do the stats tell the whole picture?

OP is dead right...the play is credited as a pass when it traveled no more than 1 yard and he never even gripped the ball.

I don't think stats tell the whole story regardless but there are times when taking away oddities in the way stats are compiled tell a more accurate story and his passing yards / stats against Purdue are one of those times.

fricking idiots down voting this… it was his stats people. I know you have on your Nuss glasses but Jesus Christ THOSE WERE HIS STATS!

Lol, no, no they weren't. The OP admitted that he omitted a completion, 75 yards, and a TD from his stats.

So you are completely wrong. Those were partial stats. That's why people are downvoting and your argument is completely blown.

BTW, enjoy another DV.

Nuss had a higher rating than Daniels, even with the INT. His stats were very good for the very little he got to play in comparison to Daniels.

Yeah you can take a lot from the total of about 5 qtrs he's played this year Nobody is saying we win 10 games with him starting just wanted him to get more time/reps. Daniels should be better he has about 4 year headstart starting at QB. I hope Nuss pushes JD for the starting job next year. Just think the ceiling is higher with Nuss. We will know probably by the first game of next year if Daniels can get over that run first mentality if not then we are right back where we were at the end of this season.

If we are taking away things, can we add the dropped pass by Nabors?

Changing the result of a play and changing how a play is classified statistically isn't really apples to apples.
