Smu made the biggest bone headed play of the game last night when they failed to kick ball into the endzone....so weird. Would have been overtime most likely if they had done so

they are in anyway....a team that most very likely would be 6-6 in SEC, depending on who they played.

LSU needs to cancel the Clemson game. If SMU gets in, they are proving that strength of schedule means nothing. SMU was ranked 2nd from last in strength of schedule in all of the Power 4. I don't know who was last, Miami?

Makes alot of sense. I happen to think Carolina is the best bubble team and would be a better choice. They playing lights out right now. Sad they have 3 loses.

LSU should get Beamer and send Burger King packing.

It’s hilarious all the people pointing to the betting odds. Florida state was betting odds favorite over bama last year to get it, and we saw how that played out.

Florida st didn’t have a qb.

But Florida State had the best defense in the country and hadn't lost a game including with the substitute QB.

Psh Ole Miss should be in over Bama

SC should be in over both. Yes, they lost to each, but played a tougher schedule, and still won 6 in a row down the stretch, getting better and better as the year went on. Plus, they beat Clemson at Clemson to end the year, and lost AT Bama by 2 in the final seconds, and blew big lead against LSU to lose by 3.

I agree...in the final regular season rankings. It should have been S Carolina, Alabama, Ole Miss. And I believe the S Carolina vs Alabama game was at Tuscaloosa also.

That should have been 100% irrelevant. Can you imagine LSU not making the CFP because Garrett Nussmeier got hurt? That logic makes zero sense and it is ridiculous and laughable.

Serious question here. How did FSU hold up in the bowl game without him?

Florida State is 2-11 since their QB got hurt and no QB this year. They made the right call and would do the same if Swann was our QB.

Sankey and whoever the big ten commissioner is this week have put the screws to the playoff committee.

They've made it known if they don't respond with "how high?" when those two say "jump", that the two leagues will break off and form a 40 or so team super league.

There have been plenty of articles over the last few years with the buzz about the SEC and big ten doing just that.

I'll do a back flip if SMU gets in over bama. I just need someone to spot me.

I mean if we’re going to play that transitive property then Georgia State is better than Alabama.

It wasn’t just one game inconsistent with other results. Those 2 SEC teams were the best teams Clemson played this year and they lost, one badly. Bama played more ranked teams than Clemson and played a tougher overall schedule. Of the two they had a better overall season. The common opponents only reinforce that point.

Yes, it had nothing to do with over half their starters opting out of the bowl.

Didn’t they say they held the QB against them?

Then why was SMU ranked several spots higher last week when all those same things were still true?

Because they were only 0-1 against ranked opponents instead of 0-2 and they hadn’t lost to the Clemson team who is the basis of this comparison.

SMU doesn’t move the needle compared to Bama is the problem

I disagree.

The committee needs to realize more people will tune in to see SMU win. But they also know Bama will draw ratings bc people want to see them lose.

Make SMU great again, god dammit.
