What I am saying is that Bruce's camp knew all along that his commitment to LSU would rile up Michigan. In the NIL area, what is the point in the supposed No. 1 recruit committing so early and staying firm in that commitment? That would not maximize value...unless you had other plans.

To maximize value, you either commit early and use that to your advantage or you stay undecided and use that to your advantage...you definitely don't commit early and stay true to your commitment and completely end any chance of getting more NIL money...

Why not just be committed to LSU? Why do all the visits and help recruit? It would have been much easier with the same effect to just be committed to LSU and sat at home being a high school kid. Seems to me Michigan football program thought they had no chance from the very beginning and some boosters got mad about the way Michigan football was headed at the very end and stepped in. Revisiting all this shows me that LSU was incredibly unlucky here.

Welcome to the 21st century. You can also now replace “passion for sports” with “passion for lobbying/politics”.

Wait do you think that Larry Ellison is doing this for political reasons and not because he has more money than he knows what to do with and his wife wants her Alma mater to be good at football?

So the $5-6 million NIL from LSU maximizing value? How many times has LSU possibly gone up on their offer since Bryce committed back in January? Again, Michigan wasn't even talking to the Underwood camp until Portnoy & the Ellison's got involved.

Naw, this entirely too logical.

Because every time he goes on a visit he’s treated like a superstar, touring facilities, eating great food, meeting future NFL superstars, etc. Why wouldn’t you want to take these visits?

It would be exhausting mentally and physically to keep a facade like that for over a year to a school you never really wanted to go to.

exactly...and if Michigan doesn't fork up any money (which seemed unlikely that they wouldn't), you still have a good plan B at LSU.

Because of exactly what happened. Michigan matched LSU’s offer, Bryce said no and stayed committed to LSU. Michigan then upped their offer to $10.5 million, Bryce said no and stayed committed to LSU. Michigan was then forced to up their offer to $12 million, and finally he accepted.

Idk, it would be pretty easy for me to be nice to someone and tell them exactly what they want to hear if they were offering me millions of dollars. And I’m sure an 18 year old elite athlete can physically handle going on a weekend trip every once in a while..

That wasn't the premise of his post. He was trying to explain that Bryce committing to LSU wasn't a ploy to drive up potential NIL deals. He was simply stating that staying uncommitted, being basically a free agent would drive up potential deals more so than committing to one university.

Larry Ellison has a net worth of Billions.

Could have had buildings or the entire stadium named after him. Instead he hands over millions to a high school player.

The weirdest part to me is nobody knew of Jolin Ellison’s existence before this, it was a secret marriage.

The underwood announcement also served as their wedding announcement.

Days after it was difficult to get confirmed pictures of her, and many were just posting the one female he has had pictures with over past couple of years who wore a Michigan hat in a few pics. I read one theory is she has a tennis connection with him going back while he was still dating the Ukrainian.

I mean he specifically asked why would Bryce take all these visits when he could just stay home instead. I answered that question.

There have been countless stories on how 5 star recruits were sick of the whole process by the end. Basically being overindulged.

"They [Michigan] were, like, going more down South to find more players instead of having what they have in their backyard," Bryce Underwood said in September.

Which would explain why he committed so early to LSU, to reduce some of that stress
