Pearson needs to take the LF job. I know he’s struggled so far, but don’t forget what he’s capable of.

He’s a better option than Jobert and Morgan is too good at 1st to be out in left. That gives you Beloso as a great bat off the bench. Jobert can get so hot but in between that it’s not good.

He’s also at least average in the field, Jobert is the worst outfielder I’ve ever seen.

Despite his 200 batting average in only 15 abs, Pearson has a 409 obp. Also he’s shown signs of life lately like the opposite field double last night.

Again, I’m not saying he should just be given the job. But he needs to step up and take it to reach our full potential.

Meh, I think between Jones and Beloso, either one can adequately field the first base position to make it worthwhile to have their bat in the lineup.

Based on what we have seen in pre conference I think this team is at its overall best when Morgan is in left, Jones is at first, and going with the hot hand at DH from the guys off the bench.

Settle on our 2/3 behind Skenes and shore up the bullpen (pun partially intended)

LSU is going to have constant platoons, constant shuffling, constant highs and lows from hitters, slumps, etc… this team has the depth to mask it.

I do agree, overall it benefits LSU if Pearson can lock down say LF

of all the things I have seen out of this team, Pearson starting as the key to the teams performance was not one of em.

What if the lineup was

RF - Kling
LF- Tre
CF- Crews
3B - Tommy
2B - Dugas
DH - Jones
1B- Beloso
SS - Thompson
C- Neal/Milazzo

Pearson and Jobert if they get hot can take that LF spot, Tre kicks to first snd Beloso either out of the lineup or replaces Jones if he struggles

To say this team has to have Pearson in to reach its full potential is a pure guess. You have no clue.

In baseball when your team is deep you don’t just start somebody because of what they did last year. It’s what have you done for me lately and that’s just how it is

Jones missed a routine play for Morgan.

Now, that may not be worth keeping Morgan at first, but I remember watching that and thinking he would have made that play.

Pearson was more valuable as a starter last year than this year with all the new talent that has arrived. For his sake I hope he gets enough playing time for him to want to stick around. Hitters abound this year. Much better pitching from last year but pitching imo will be key for LSU to get to Omaha.

Agree, better option than on again off again Jobert IMO.
Just needs to get bat up to speed like he did last year.

Pearson has been a non factor since last summer. It is what it is. Continue to give him spot at bats and if he comes on play him if not he sits. This team is too talented to wait on Pearson. The best hitting line up is Morgan in left and platoon 1st and DH with the hot hitters. The best defensive line up is Morgan at 1st and Stevenson in left.

I think overall your post is what most people who have been paying attention thinks will happen. That will likely be the only tinkering from here on.

I liked they tried Frey in RF last night. That will be a work in progress. Also like Travinski getting some time as that would be a nice RH bat off the bench.

In his last 7 plate appearances, he’s been on base 5 times.

He is 2-4 with 3 BB.

And hasn’t K’d since the Iowa game

We need a RH bat in the dugout. I have been wondering why Travinski has not seen more action in that role.

Absolutely, I'd like to see him get some midweek at bats at DH just to get some game time at bats for certain PH scenarios.

I really want morgan in left, but having him at first as SEC play ramps up seems too valuable

I don't think the OP is that far off. Tre is our best 1B and Pearson is a better outfielder than Jobert. If Pearson was one of our better hitters, it would benefit our team defensively.
