I will never get the love affair with Chris Reid. He can get on base but if you can’t get extra base hits you need to be able to steal bases or put pressure on the defense with speed. He also has no range on defense. He’s basically perfect to be a pinch hitter if you need a base runner late and then have someone pinch run for him.

Slaughter is a better hitter. Their defense is about even. Reid hasn't been great this season defensively, and Slaughter certainly has had a rough week defensively. Slaughter also has been arguably our best hitter.
