Davy is correct, while Clemson game is important, a loss isn't the end of the season. It's not like we're opening with ULL. Clemson is a top 10 team. Even if we drop it, I think we'll run the table to Bama. This team will be 9-3 or 10-2. 10-2 will get us in the playoffs. 9-3 might.

I agree but you even left out one important factor about the LSU-Clemson game. It will be played on Clemson's home field. The line is about Clemson by 4...mostly that is the home field. LSU would be favored if the game was being played in Baton Rouge

that's what absolutely blows...and it is true

A LOT of people thought this was a good hire. I remember frequently hearing a lot of people say that....then everyone was saying we have an adult in charge...etc....

Now he has no excuses, it is put up or shut up this year. I'm sure i'm like a lot of others on here...I'm giving him this year.....but if he loses this first game again...watch out.

I agree that a road loss to a top 5 Clemson team to start the season would not have a significant impact

I hear you, but it's a must win. They've lost each of their first game since 2020.

You got the 60 mill to float CBK while we or LSU scraps another 100mill for new coach.

Im sure this has been pointed out, but in a world where people are committing money to NIL, the only way for a university to pony up money for a buyout is to refuse the NIL donations in lieu of buyout money. That isn't happening. That's why Matt McMahon and Beth Torina are still here and it's also why there weren't any SEC football head coach changes at all last year.

When is the last time not one SEC football coach was fired?

Mark Stoops is the longest tenured football coach in the SEC.

If by saying the past is 2019....damn. Georgia is living in the past. Bama is living in the past. Texas and OU definitely living in the past. May as well definitely throw in ND and Penn State. shite, everyone is living in the past except Ohio State right now. Idiot

It's $52 million in November. He wouldn't get fired midseason, it'd be end of season, but LSU won't pay $52 mil. Earliest I could see is when it is 2027 or 2028.

Unless Todd Graves just hates BK, then it won't happen for 2-3 years AND BK does poorly.

Year 1 was obviously acceptable, and so was the one to Florida State when they were easily top four before losing their QB.

It’s such a stupid argument. What makes a good fit for a program? It’s as vague of a term as you can conceive. It is completely undefinable.

That’s what I’m saying. Ever since O, nobody will be viewed as a good fit to the casuals.

Saban was a yankee and wasn’t really loved until he won the title.

Les was another Yankee who never deserved the job but people learned to accept him.

It’s LSU. Win games and it’s a good fit. There aren’t Louisiana natives in the coaching world who would be viewed as “good fit” by the casual eye.

The only way Kelly gets fired is if they have two consecutive losing seasons

That just won’t happen at LSU.

you expect Hawaii to win every single game

Off-topic, but interesting:

A Colt Brennan led Hawaii team did just that, back in 2007. John Feinstein famously lamented the reality that Hawaii, the only unbeaten FBS team in America that year, would not be playing Ohio State in the Mercedes Benz Superdome for the NC title. He felt they were worthy to compete for the championship.
