While I don’t like Gov. Landry inserting himself into this,

Landry picking the next coach is a strawman. He stepped in because Scott had let things get so out of line that LSU got shellacked 49 to 25 in tiger stadium at night. LSU leading at half and played like zombies the 2nd half.

All the politics and Landry talk has been put out by Scott Woodard in an effort to save his job.

How many millions has he cost us in football/men’s basketball vs how much has he gained us in women’s basketball/baseball?

I didn't realize Woodward was another Jerry Jones.

You tell me. You apparently know. I didn't know you had stock in LSU athletics, and he was affecting your value? Do we even care that LSU is the 13th most valuable athletic program in the country and brings in 200 million a year? Or do we just like regurgitating false, worn-out talking points to fire someone?

You do realize we would be making A LOT more money if we had a football team in the playoffs and mens basketball team in the tourney, right?

Are you suggesting that women’s basketball and baseball are driving them to be the 13th most valuable athletic program? If men’s basketball was worth a shite, couldn’t we be considerably higher? We were a valuable athletic program long before Scott Woodward and will be long after. Care to address him being in with this slime ball development group?

Would we? Like how much? 10, 20, 30 mil? You and your ilk literally have no idea what you are talking about.

Have fun with Heath Schroyer and Jeff Landry running our Athletic Program. Guess we will call it a stupid tax.

I’m inclined to agree with OP. The pitchforks and torches crew here just wants to attack anything and everything.

No, no, I get it. Good things - Lucky. Bad things - His fault. I understand.

It would be dumbest move ever.

Woodward hired 3 national champion coaches that have won 4 titles in 4 years….baseball, gymnastics and women’s basketball.

It didn’t work out but, you do realize Kelly was the sitting and winningest coach of Notre Dame and the entire country when he was hired.

Woodward’s predecessors have done far worse.

I agree it would be numb to fire him. He took a shot. A calculated risk which at the time seemed like a good move. Nobody bats 100%.

People here are confusing Landrys involvement because lsu doesn’t have a sitting President with some sort of incompetence by Woodward.

What about men's basketball? I personally don't give a rip about basketball. I watch baseball and football. I also don't give a rip about specific sports revenue. LSU's revenue as a whole is just fine. Like I said, there is no convincing you otherwise. We will fire Woody, you will get your McNeese AD, and JL. You will like it at first and hate it in 2-3 years. Then I will mock you and the rest of the clowns who called for this firing under the guise of being some financial auditors in the athletics department

Also - yes, I am the wall.

The AD is the football coaches boss! If these rumors are true about Kelly's drinking problem and that he spent the bye week on a beach and Woodward wasn't reading him the riot act then poor little Woody wasn't doing his job either. Why didn't he have something in Kelly's contract that would cover these kind of things? Wouldn't you expect him to be present in his office or on the field the entire football season? It is only 5 to 6 months after all with a 10 million dollar a year salary. If I had been given a guaranteed income like Kelly I wouldn't be working hard either. Hell fire me and let me have a paid vacation for the rest of my life.
