This has been a weird year with false optimism later followed by a mea culpa about not having the team ready. How about have the team ready this week?

If the bye week solves the problem then they set his recovery back a few weeks by trading the likelihood of scoring 56 against SLU with MVB for Nuss scoring 56 against SLU. Makes sense.

Either way, IDC anymore. Just fix the offense. Whether Nuss magically gets better or MVB starts and balls out. I just want to win.

Agreed

Hopefully he’s healed enough that he won’t get hurt again when he takes that first hard hit Saturday.

Let’s just hope he doesn’t sling it to the defense in crucial situations

This whole injury/ arm strength talking point is just distracting from the many other deficiencies Nuss has. The guy is just not very good. We should play Van Buren Saturday night to see what he can do in meaningful snaps. We already know that Nuss isn't winning us more than 8 games this year at best.

If LSU ends up 9-3 and missing the CFP Kelly should never hear the end of how colossally stupid it was not to rest/heal his QB the week of the SLU game.

Of course, the excuse would then shift away from Nussmeier being limited as the reason for the poor offensive performance.

Nuss is a good QB. I have my doubts he, or anyone, could ever be a great QB under this OC, but he's still a good player. However, if the OC is not going to change is approach (which simply isn't working) then all that is left is to change the QB.

We should be able to tell pretty early if Sloan has decided to adjust his approach or not. LSU has been awful on the first drive all season (and last season too), and overall bad in the 1Q. In 3 games vs. P4 opponents LSU has scored a total of 7 points. And that in and of itself was probably sheer luck with Anderson catching a deflected bad pass. If Saturday is more of the same we will have our answer.

If it is clear Sloan hasn't made any adjustments, then I can't see any logical reason why he wouldn't put MVB in for a series to see if he can't create a spark.
