My life's philosophy is to enjoy whatever I am doing, It is a matter of attitude but if I ain't happy at work I ain't going....and I have had what some folks would consider truly shitty jobs where it was common for employees to shite in a plastic box like a cat without the litter (porta potty). Heat, cold, rain, contractors whose only business model was to be cheap and drive the hired help like they were a mule team....and I was happy as a pig in shite because I simply refuse to be otherwise. When it started making me unhappy I would leave.

I tried to make a living during duck season for 2 years in the late 80's as a duck guide in Arkansas and North Alabama. I liked nothing better at the time than duck hunting. Making it a job made me unhappy - I quit trying. I love offshore fishing but there is NO way I would want to do it for a living. I sold a business in 2006 and retired and moved to Europe. I like nothing more than sitting in a coffee shop, park or bar watching people - I did it for 6 months and when it started making me unhappy I went back to work. The better advise is to be happy with what you choose to do and when it no longer makes you happy change....and never, ever start thinking that the things you do are not a choice you are making because almost no one in the US is forced to do anything they don't want to do....we settle for what's convenient because we are afraid of change and what others will think of us, and that is a choice. If you become a victim in your own mind you are truly a victim.....
