You are a huge dumbass if you give the credit to miles. I'm guessing you are in your 20's or mildly retarded
I would think the same thing about you bc you clearly have amnesia about the program history of LSU. Did Saban put us back on the map...HELL yes he did. Does that mean that suddenly LSU recruits itself..............? C'mon man. Its not a hard concept. Les is one of the greatest recruiters in college football right now. It's clearly evident to anyone with a hint of brain cells. But either you hate Miles so much, or you are up Saban's so much, that you have blinders on. Sure...let's give Les no credit. Here in lies the root of all the angst towards "nega tigers"

We were better than we had been in 50 years. In no way does that mean we were a top 5 program.
HE broght LSU A National title in 2003 after waiting since 1958... You are a clown not thiking that this program was not a top 5 program when he left.... LES came in and did a great job with a foundation that was started by Saban... You can say ALL you want that is harder to maintain A TOP 5 program than building one, BUT LES didn't build shite at OKIE.St.

I always thought that after 2009 was when you finally knew what you had with Less Miles. 2010 pretty much cemented it.
This is when I was ready to support Les less
In 2008, he made no effort to change the offense to help Lee succeed. I was unhappy with Lee, until years later, when I realized Les was incapable/unwilling to make needed changes. Miles then shut down the offense in 2009 because of the picks, and we lose 4 games. 2010 was more of the same, but he needed Lee off the bench to save his own arse. (did the same thing with Harris, and then Etling)
Then in 2011, he was forced to play someone he did not want at QB, and the kid shined. Led LSU to its first undefeated season in Miles tenure. And then Les shite on him. I don't look fondly on the '11 season, because that's the year I lost respect for him as a person.
By 2010 I would have been happy to have him gone. Cant even imagine Dabo, Jimbo, Patterson, etc. with that 2011 team

Your record is what makes you a top 5 program. Please explain how 1 top 5 finish in over 2 decades makes lsu a top 5 program?
Agreed. That in of itself doesnt mean he left Lsu as a top 5 program.
Oh, you amusing little simpleton.
By your very own logic, miles left Lsu as a not top 25 program. Damn your aesthetics, it's the results that matter.

IMO, the only thing complicating the Negatigers' argument is the 2011 season

I have answered why the recruiting is different now than 20 years ago. Are you going to admit I'm right? Nope. So what was the point...if people don't see the differences in the program now and 20 years ago they won't see the advantages we have now. And people act like "LSU recruits itself" means coaches don't need to recruit which is absurd. It means great recruits already think of LSU as a school they are interested in...because of the national titles and facilitates.

Dinardo started locking down the state

Only a year. My friend criticized Les after the 07 Bama game and is still banned. Nothing too bad, just an opinion. Now that is a grudge.

I can give credibility to the facility upgrades and winning being something that adds to the advantages of recruiting to LSU. LSU has top notch facilities and have won at a huge clip for 15 years or so consistently.
I just don't understand why you are so unwilling to admit that Miles was the piece that made all of those advantages work for us. I think many teams have made facility upgrades over the past 20 years and I think that there have been a few nat'l champions that have lost their edge on recruiting. We haven't faltered in that regard.

Also the whole fact that he turned ok state into a decent pipeline for recruits from nothing.

I do think it is ignorant to say Let's success is because of Saban. Just like with Dinat do, they had little impact on freshmen and many sophomore players, those players may have been recruited by another but the success on the field is a result of the coach on the sideline.
Even upperclassmen, the success of those teams were due to the man on the sidelines. Both Saban and Les were placed in positions to do great things and they did. To belittle Les after the success he has had over the years shows extreme ignorance imo. He wasn't a Coker, he was a good/great coach whose style got stale.

Your finishes and record is what makes you a top 5 program.

Doesnt make you a top 5 program. It means we were NC in 2003 and a good program.

Before he got there they had 1 winning season from 1987-2002.
He built them into a respectable program and had 3 winning seasons in 4 years while going 9-4 in 2003. Educate yourself.
Its amazing how all of les' success is attributed to saban but miles gets no credit for how OSU turned out.

I would describe myself as a Positiger. I liked our coaches and actually believed that they could resolve what was wrong with our offense. I feel that we have great talent. But, it just did not happen. I can accept the change while feeling badly for how it ended for Coach Miles. I will remain a Positiger for the current and upcoming coaching staffs.
I condemn the national media for being disingenuous. On the one hand, it had become fashionable for talking heads to imply (if not outright say) that Miles was a knucklehead who knew how to recruit but couldn't coach a lick. On the other hand, most of the national media seems to condemn LSU for not keeping that same coach (knucklehead)any longer.
I will continue to DESPISE every poster on this board who openly criticizes or demeans our players. Suffice to say, not a single one of those players goes on the field with an intent to piss off the crybaby ranters. I believe all of them are trying their best to be recognized as competent players. It just doesn't always work out, but we should grant them that assumption, anyway.

Some posters forget that the other team is actually trying to win the game too.
