It's a group of fans that support a group of fans...what's not to understand?

I certainly understand that, Phil. However, not breaking down what we saw in the spring wouldn't fly. Gotta break it down as it's presented.

Listen, I'm not complaining about anything presented here today...and I truly hope that both QBs take giant leaps forward and carry this program to a NC as soon as possible...because this year could be a real good one if either one of the QBs get on a role...

Phil, I actually think a bus driver-like QB could get the job done with all the talent the Tigers have. It may come down to who doesn't get the team beat and can take care of the ball. No doubt any QB will have to make plays at critical moments, but you have to think Cam realizes what he has in that running game and will turn it loose.

That last play you highlighted was a bad defensive play with 2 defenders moving up to cover the running back in the flat. Not seeing how that shows improvement. If anything it showed how slow AJ is at reading and anticipating. Dupree was standing still for quite awhile and AJ was looking that direction the whole time. The lack of being able to make reads and anticipate effectively enough to see small windows develop really killed his short yardage % last year.

You can poll 10 different people and get 10 different results with just about anything in sports. The reality was as soon as Dupre cleared he got the ball. It was a Hi-Lo read with clear-out route (Hi) running what seems to be a deep corner route. On a read like that you have to certain on that Hi read as the underneath (Lo) is simply sitting in space. Dupre and the Hi read are in the same exact area so it may look like he was looking at Dupre but he was going through his read. It wasn't really a "Regular" to "Lucy" scan just simply a Hi-Lo.

If he were sitting there forever, not sure he would've gained all those YAC. But I hear ya, man.

Look, the recruiting all across the SECW has taken a step up a notch...Ark, Ole Piss, Aub, ATM,Blammer...even State is damn good...we're going to need more than just average QB play to win the West...jmho

Makes pretentious observation about incorrect grammar.

Makes case with 2 incomplete sentences.

I see what you are getting at. Can also be looked at as he got off the Hi quickly as soon as the Lo come open. To me, it is hard to believe the point you were trying to make when the defense is so out of place.

The real question on that play is what the hell was #22 and the cornerback doing on defense???

Phil, there's more to football than just QB play. Hutson Mason was good enough to spank a couple of those West teams last season and how was he not average? LSU used to dominate both lines of scrimmage and it could be said that wasn't the best defensive line we saw coming out of Baton Rouge lately.

And it seemed as though Cam was forcing the throw game instead of really getting it going with the run early on in the season.

Ole Miss doesn't know what type of QB it has. A&M's QB could be good, but we don't know until he actually does it and they have a ton more questions: can they effectively run the ball or defend the run/pass?

Auburn looks good at QB but that defense may still be an issue.

Arkansas has a QB the fan base wanted to be replaced by a freshmen all season and offseason until the media put some shine on him and he killed it in the Spring Game. But they lost the three best players on defense and there's no telling if the starters are as good as their predecessors. And depth is an issue for them at a quite a few spots.

Alabama may be in the same exact boat as LSU at the QB position only they don't have a playmaker to lean on at the position if all else fails.

State has a good QB, but must replace a back that was the soul of the offense, at times. And it lost some serious experience on defense, and the defense was shaky with that talent.

Lots of questions all around the West, Phil. LSU has as good of a chance as anybody.

lolol, I've been there before. All you need to do is think that you're in man when it was some type of area coverage call. Makes you looks so bad in the film session. He probably guessed what play was coming, too and got caught up. Had he stayed there all Dupre would've done was a sight adjustment where he kept moving until he cleared the zone, though.

That was was going to be completed one way or another...I think. lol. Good stuff, man.

Would you consider looking at the defense too? I know there were a few different things being run in the spring game and Steele has a slightly different philosophy from Chavis.

Let me summarize. "I hope LSU has better quarterbacks this year, even though we all know they will suck"

Unfortunately, I'm not as confident that it would have been completed. Many times last year, the ball would have been forced downfield in such situations. Hence, why I said the following earlier...

The lack of being able to make reads and anticipate effectively enough to see small windows develop ...

I appreciate your breakdowns. Still hopeful for the best out of our QB play.

I think he has accuracy issues.

i don't think he can comfortable make every throw.

If we could just finish higher than Marshall this year, it would be a victory of sorts.
