They did a complete revamp of the entire playing surface after the 2019 season including new drainage, new base material, new top soil and new sod. The field WAS bad at the end of the 2019 season. The field hasn't been bad since then. Ask anyone who plays on that field if they want fake turf. Players are more injury prone on artificial turf not to mention that artificial turf is anywhere from 20°- 40° hotter than ambient temperature during daytime sunny weather. Imagine that during a 2:30pm game in September or October. Artificial turf is for teams who don't have the climate, knowledge or money to maintain grass. LSU has all three of those.

figure out how to not have the field look like East Iberville HS for the last month of the season
i’ve played on turf and i’ve played on fields way shittier than LSU’s (trust me, the average rec field is a billion times shittier).
give me a natural surface over that artificial crap any day.
no matter what it looks like.

Dinardo did that out of a desire to purge LSU football of any memory of the failure and frustration of the prior six years. It was never meant to be a permanent change.
Refresh my memory, what was the field before Dinardo?

Dark / light green every 5 yards. Very unique and old school LSU. As is the every 5 yard numbers - they’re awesome

I’d love that and script Tigers in the endzones

Bring back the 80s/Saban era endzones.

He needs to get some Ws - quite a few of them - under his belt before he starts messing with stuff like that.

That’s the only acceptable answer.

Turf is horrible to play on and dangerous. We do not need turf, dunba$$. Athletes hate it.

Purple turf like the blue turf at Boise State? Nah, sometimes you can’t find the ball.
Posted on 7/28/22 at 7:11 am to DBG

Can’t have turf, people around here think turf causes injuries.
