You don't get it. Of coarse everyone's lives matter. Your live matters, mine does, obamas does. It's just the name of the cause. Have to have a catchy hashtag these days.

watched the video and while I think the officers were likely justified, I could see where someone else wouldn't. If LF thinks he didn't, then that's his opinion, and I understand.

He may be ignorant about the situation like most others are. People actually believe the cops rolled up on a dude selling CDs and shot him just because he is black.

That's why I said I hope he got ALL the information before posting that picture. Which I'm thinking he probably didn't.

Here's the fact of the matter... This will continue to happen it has always happened and always will. The only difference is that the main stream media has made it a show and everyone has a camera and is just waiting for this stuff to happen. Another fact is that police are 40% more likely to be shot or killed by a black man than any other race. Another fact is that more whites are killed by police than blacks or any other race. Also while there are more whites and the numbers should be higher there is more crime by blacks per population by a long shot. Blacks really should be more focused on black on black murder than this but it isn't as important for what ever reason??

The fact that you, and others like you, think there are "sides" in this issue is a reflection of the problem.

Like it or not it is the facts you can look them up. I think it's a circus show and made to divide the people to make US the people that much more weak. We need to stand together know the facts and see thru their bullcrap. That's really all I'm trying to say.

What was inappropriate about it?

Nothing. Some people would just rather the players not have an opinion unless it agrees with their own. A man was gunned down on camera (several cameras from different angles), and Fournette wore a shirt to pay respect.

Right. I don't know why everyone has to lump every situation into a group. They are all unique to themselves.. and some are justified.. and some have absolutely legit concerns.. and it doesn't always mean it's a racial issue.. many of times it's incompetence.. which is just as bad.. and there's nothing wrong with standing up to this and looking for changes.. but do it the right way and do it for legit cases.

I respect the police, but they are human.. and there are not just bad cops.. there's some idiotic people as cops.. and this is a concern when these are the people with the authority to take measures to end a life.. I have heard that the police departments actually don't like to hire people with higher iq.. and now with all this crapstorm brewing.. it's less likely good/intelligent people would even want to be a cop..

I just hate that this has become a racial issue.. further dividing us.. They want to protest injustice, okay.. but they are often taking up for justified situations.. Still unfortunate.. and I hope we continue to explore ways to avoid such fatal outcomes though..

Any ways, still impressed by Guice and look forward to a great year.

Oh, well in that case.........

Sterling's mom was on Fox yesterday with her lawyer and said the homeless 911 call never happened and her son was targeted. So there's that.

I'd venture to say that it is a combination of problems, including a few that you mention.

There was a study done recently (don't recall the source) that said the higher the level of formal training/education of the officer, the lower the instance of excessive force.
The problem, however, is that officers are paid a pittance of what they should be. So it's immediately difficult to recruit good candidates. Add that to the fact that the low pay is often supplemented by overtime/auxiliary shifts or second jobs.

So, what you have are undertrained/uneducated, low-paid, exhausted people in a high-stress environment with a deadly weapon on their hip.

Couple all this with some undeniable disparities in enforcement tactics when dealing with minorities and you have recipe for disaster.

As I said before, this isn't about good and bad or cop vs black people. It's about people acting without thinking, compassion, or understanding. Especially now, we'd all be well served to just take a minute to calm the frick down.

I don't think LF is anti-police. I don't think Guice is anti-BLM

I at least won't jump to those conclusions because LF wore a t shirt with the likeness of a black man who tied based on a policeman's error or because Guice posted some good natured photos with cops.

Fact is, all of us should care more about historically oppressed racial minorities and all of us should appreciate the police and what they do for us all everyday for very meager compensation.

Wonderful. I just think there are many ways to do this besides putting a career POS deplorable criminal as the face of a t shirt

I think it's pretty apparent that this is less about him than it is a broader issue of excessive use of force (perceived or actual) against minorities. He could've been a saint. The symbolism is the same.

I'll indulge your conspiracy theory. Who do you think "is trying to make the US people that much more weak?"

That's an idiotic charge. It's not that he has a different opinion, it's that the poster believes his particular opinion is shameful. Let me give you an example.

Assuming you think Hitler's viewpoints were shameful, wouldn't it be a gross oversimplification on my part to accuse you of "being ashamed of Hitler because he has a different opinion than you"?

Of course I'm OK with it. It's America.

I didn't say he couldn't voice his opinion. Just that I'd prefer athletes and celebrities to keep their controversial opinions to themselves. I don't care what they think and I don't understand how they think anything positive can come from giving their opinion when no one asked for it.

Matt Damon is a fricking moron, but I'll watch just about any movie with him. I just wish he'd shut the hell up.
