First TD to Chase against Bama

This...

At that moment, I knew it was going to be a long day for Bama defense.

The TD pass to Marshall to go up 27-3 against UGA. Such precision into a tight window... a thing of beauty!

That seam pass to Jefferson v Texas was sweet, and so was that TD to Helaire right before half v Bama.

The truth is Burrow threw enough great TDs for a lifetime. The guy was one of a kind.

I’ve broken down this one several times, that was the moment I knew this team was destined for great things because of the entire context of how it played out.

quote:

Burrow to Jefferson on 3rd and 17 against Texas is rightfully celebrated, but imo this team really became what it is on the last sequence of the first half.

It was a 10-7 game and LSU went on a 10 play 65 yard drive. On 3rd and goal from the 4 Burrow was sacked for a huge loss and we settled for a FG to go up 13-7 with under 2 minutes to go until half.

Texas came out throwing but the defense came up with a huge 3 and out capped by a huge sack by Chaisson on 3rd down forcing a punt from deep in their own territory.

Stingley had a solid 11 yard return to get us to our own 42 with 1:07 to go, again up 13-7.

Despite giving up a big sack to end the previous drive, LSU became the 2019 offense on this drive.

Burrow comes out throwing, with a 19 yard strike to Chase, an 18 yarder to Jefferson, and then one of the most beautiful and indefensible passes you will ever see on Saturday or Sundays with a back shoulder (opposite shoulder) lob right down the middle of the field to the end zone where Jefferson makes the perfectly precise adjustment jumping and turning his body to bring down the 21 yard TD on the third play of the drive.

Burrow then went HAM holding up double Ls and talking serious shite while his OL all crowded around beating on his helmet and chest.

That whole sequence after the big sack of Burrow was just a complete team effort with the D shutting down UT and a sack of our own, ST play by Stingley, the coaching to stay aggressive and Burrow, Chase, and Jefferson executing to perfection was all I needed to see to know this team was destined for greatness and I never felt a hint of worry the rest of the season.

An absolute thing of beauty and the best sequence of LSU football since the 21 point run against Arkansas 2011 before the end of that first half

As for another one that stands out just because of the boss-ness of it that hasn’t been mentioned yet was the lob to Marshall in the SECCG when we threw it and immediately started walking to the sideline before TM even caught it

TD to CEH at Bama after the Queen pick. Stadium in stunned silence. It was clear who the superior team was.

Too many to choose from.

But I think my favorite play all year wasn’t a TD, it was the 71 or so yard play to JJ in the SECCG after Burrow avoided 3 sacks scrambled and launched it.

Don’t have a favorite but two that come to mind are:

SECCG - TD to Marshall and trotting off field before it was caught. Cold blooded!

Bama - TD to Clyde after Queen’s interception. Dagger!

There's a nice video of passes and TDs in this article.

Love "Joe Houdini" at the end.

That TD pass to Clyde right before half in the bama game, not only for its impact on the crowd but later the next week, Brady was commenting on how he watched every TD pass in the NFL on Weds after the weekend's games. And said that he saw this one on Wed. nite, practiced it one time in Thursday's practice & then called it, successfully on Sat. after only that one practice play. There was also a Burrow's TD pass after #24 picked off a pass, right after a late LSU score, in the OU game. Burrow is walking down the sidelines, asking the passing DL'ers "you like that, you like that?" and RL answers, "yea, we like that !"

My favorite pass period was the throw to Moss and the great catch that led to the TD that put us up by 10 right before halftime against Alabama. The throw was absolutely perfect and the catch may have been the greatest in LSU history in terms of significance. I think it made Saban realize that LSU wan unstoppable and he couldn’t waste any offensive possessions. Tua threw an interception the next possession instead of running out the half resulting in another LSU touchdown before halftime. I think that sequence of events finally helped LSU get over the mental roadblock that Alabama had been and gave them the confidence to finish off arguably the greatest season on college football history.

The TD on that wheel route to Clyde right off of the pick. You knew Saban was worried because he was uncharacteristically throwing going into halftime. Tua makes an awful throw which gets picked and their white trash OL takes a cheap shot giving us even better field position. We then immediately, greedily, twist the knife and go up by 20 on a beautiful throw from Burrow and incredible route from Clyde. The team goes into the locker room at halftime, shortly after, talking shite to the confused rednecks in the stadium.

Td to Jefferson before half vs. UT. Great pass by Joe and great body control/adjustment by Justin.

Seam route to Jefferson to end the first half against Texas. Throw and catch were incredible and I knew right then this offense was going to be special.
