Family and friends asking stupid football questions during the holidays

I’m ready for the visiting to be over with so I can quit being asked these three stupid questions:
The granddaddy of them all: “Is LSU in a bowl game?”
Runner up “Who does LSU play in the bowl game this year?”
Honorable mention “When does LSU play next?”
If you don’t have a question about the health of Clyde, who I think will win the OSU vs. Clemson game or our defense vs. the Oklahoma offense lets just babble about something else.

These are probably the same people who would have an opinion on every penalty if you watched a game with them and sound ridicules in their comments.

I’ve heard worse.
“Does LSU play the saints this year?”

I’ll rephrase for you: “I’m such a miserable prick I can’t engage in small-talk with family members who are trying to talk about something they know I find interesting. Even on Christmas Day.”

While true I have to agree with the OP. is it too much to ask for them to know SOMETHING about it? Hell my FIL asked what the spread was and when I told him LSU -13/14 his reply was “why”?

True story:
The week of the Vanderbilt game this year, I had this conversation with my son’s fiancé.
Her: Who does LSU play this week?
Me: Vanderbilt
Her: Who?
Me: Mandeville
Her: Really? I have a friend who goes to school in Mandeville.
Me: You should call her and see if she has tickets to the game.
Her: Yeah
I swear.

Not everyone bleeds purple and gold baw. Half of my family absolutely loathes football and the first mention of it is met with scoffs. Be grateful you have family asking you about it, even if they aren’t familiar with it.

This thread is delivering if these stories are true

You read the Rant. You should be used to stupid questions by now.

I avoid football conversations with anyone on my GFs side of the family.

Probably the same people who would schedule a wedding during the fall.

So, your in-laws have no interest in LSU, but they know that you do because it’s probably the most important thing in your life (which is sad). Then they make the effort to try to ask you about it in order to have a conversation with you, because you probably are terrible at having conversations outside of things you love like LSU, and then you come here and complain about it?
Yeah, they sound like the ones with the problem

Same people that schedule a kids skate party during the game or a cooking class.

Not everyone is in tune to college football. Actually most people are not

he and i have watched every game together this season.
i mentioned that LSU would be playing this saturday.
he asked, "who are they playing?"
i'm living on this board making comments about the Tigers daily.
apparently he hasn't been listening.
