This doesn’t describe what happened fwiw. It specifically mentions the defender lining up in the neutral zone. The OL can’t reach out to touch him in that case because the actual rule is that the defender can’t jump into the neutral zone and cause a reaction (which is what happened Saturday).

They are unless they're the center. The center should snap it for the free play
Honestly asking, because I do not know how that play goes on as in unflagged

Because they missed it. Period.
It’s either offsides or a false start. There’s no scenario where the center can touch the defensive player before the snap and it’s not a penalty on someone.

I'm sorry but if you miss the offensive lineman reaching over the line to touch a defensive lineman, what exactly are you watching there ref?
It is the literal line judges job to see that. I do not believe they missed that, they would've had to miss both

No, since there was no call the refs obviously did not call the defender in the NZ. Snapping the ball when the QB is not looking for it causes fumbles.

A few years ago, one of the LSU offensive lineman slap the side of the helmet of the DL that went into the neutral zone. It was really cool the way he did it.
