The thing about umpiring baseball is that you really aren't required to make a fair call, only a foul call. This is to not confuse the fielder, if they hear nothing from the umpire the ball is fair.

In the girl's defense, the first base umpire did NOT make the call. He got shielded and immediately asked the home plate umpire for help. It was the home plate umpire who ruled the ball fair and made the signal. The ball girl probably couldn't see that far...or just assumed that since the 1st base umpire didn't make a call, that the ball was foul.

So they spy on the bat girl after she makes a mistake because nobody is perfect and label her foul mouth because she said frick. You can't make me believe that frick wasn't appropriate.
