Admit you mad a mistake in SE and move on! How many OCs has Bama had in the last 4 years and it has not phased them. Saban went through several DCs at LSU. Don't be Miles and stick with the SOS! Make the change and move on!

no, i don’t know, nor do i pretend to know.

but the cupboard wasn’t bare on the lines when Les was canned.
the exodus happened AFTER.

so Les isn’t the person to lay the blame on.

maybe it was the players faults, maybe they were processed, maybe they didn’t want to play for O.
that happens sometimes with a coaching change.

but to lay any blame at all in the guy who was no longer employed while laying zero blame on the guy that was in charge isn’t being very fair.

I give O credit for recruiting better for badly needed skill positions. 2019 and 2020 classes (assuming they close as projected) will help us a lot.

He has the potential to be great if he could not pull a Miles and live and die by his OC. It's easy to make fun of Ed O but he really does have the team in a great position this year (better than the direction Miles had it going towards the end). Again he just needs to wake up and realize the offense has to change if he wants to compete at a championship level again.

“ cheaper price”

There is nothing cheaper about paying two head coaches and spending approximately $5 million in the last two years on coordinators. Thinking that’s cheap is just silly.

So Miles in his last 2 full seasons threw it only 21 and 23 times a game, yet had significantly better offensive stats than 2018.
FIFY, and will add congrats to Slinger for taking a 117.72 - 117.59 lead in RAT over 2010, SMDH.

8-2 with a shitty offense after Arky game is literally the exact same spot we was in for Miles’ last full season.

What do you really think miles record would be with this schedule??? Honestly not a huge fan of the hire but miles record against sec teams his last 4 years was around 500 and had no major wins against sec teams. People don’t realize how much lsu football has fallen in the last 3-4 years that miles was there and was going down quickly. It doesn’t matter who took it over it was going to take some time but 8-2 with this schedule is by far better than why anybody could of expected.

I agree but we finished that season outside top 15 rankings, and we had a weaker SOS.

Also, I did say he is on par with Miles right now as far as his record but has a chance to go beyond that by fixing the offense. So what's incorrect about what I said?

Hard to fathom that this Mama Fricker didn't interview a single coach in the entire USA after he got butt hurt and ran away scared from Tom Herman. He made no attempt to sell TH on the advantages of coaching LSU; should've been fired right then and there for that act of negligence. A strong University President would've done so...…………….

Explain to me why then. You are about the 5th person to say this, yet not a single one made a logical argument based with facts to prove anything.

Bring Miles back and pay him over a million per year more than we are paying Coach O. And everyone said Miles was trending down. With a tough schedule O has improved year over year.

Hey a-hole would you like to put up the strength of schedule for each of those seasons? Hint: 2015 was 5. AND BTW THAT TEAM WOULD HAVE WON 10 frickING GAMES HAD McNeese wouldn’t have gotten cancelled. No way they would have fired a 10-3 coach. AND 2016. LSU played 4 legitimate teams with a pulse on defense and lost all 4 games including to UF and BAMA.

the only thing you have is McNeese getting canceled but when you look at the SEC schedule that shows where Miles feel short.

so let's break this down

2013 big wins
TCU ends up 4-8
Auburn big win ends up 12-2
lost to 8-5 ole miss
beat 9-4 aTm

2014
Wisconsin nice win, but non-conference doens't really matter if you don't perform in the SEC.
Lost to 8-5 Auburn (actually got destoryed by Auburn)
walk off field goal to beat 7-5 Florida
upset ole miss which was nice, but they lost 3 more games after that to finish 9-4
lost to Notre Dame

2014 no impressive wins, and a couple of bad losses, like being shut out by a 7-6 Arkansas team.

2015 the year Miles should have been fired.
MSU a good win but they finished middle of the pack
Auburn SUCKED
Florida Nice win really nice win!

Than things fell apart. Our program was going no-where but down. we have one unexpected win a year, we are underperforming in the bowl games, and it seems the distance between us and Bama is increasing.

We lose to Bama at their place not unexpected but it's what happened next that put at-least me and many other fans over the edge.

Bad loss vs unranked Arkansas at home. 31-14. Remember we had Fornette now one of the best running backs in the NFL. Our team played with no fire, didn't care that we were being dominated by a team we should at-least played toe to toe with. Ok so two straight losses, Miles better be careful but we can take care of ole miss. Not even close. They jump up 24-0 and we trade scores till we finish losing 38-17

Looking at the season we had many rent a wins assuming we beat McNeese

MSU 4-4 in the SEC (not a horrible win)
Auburn 2-6 in the SEC
Syracuse 4-8 overall
Eastern Michigan 1 win all season
South Carolina 3 wins overall 1 in the SEC
Florida was a good win
WKU 12-2 but in the C-USA not exactly a difficult opponent
The three-game embarrassment, which should have been when Miles was fired.
than a decent win vs aTm (who can't beat us anyway)

We also won the bowl game but that doesn't matter

Thee Miles fire was legit just done at the exact wrong time. he should have been fired after being blown out by Ole Miss. Let an interim coach finish out the season pray we salvage some wins, then go find a coach who can resurrect our program.

We have a team in 2011 who is arguably the best team in the 2000s (Bama ) To a team who struggles to finish in the top 25, and at best finishes top 3 in the west. In Football LSU should be top 10 in the country majority of the time, with one off year or two. We have not finished int he top 10 since 2012 (2011 season). It was time for a change.

Sorry TLDR I'm sure but it was time for Miles to go. Now if youw ant to argue we made an error in hiring O, I'd hear you out, but there was 0 signs that Miles was building another championship calliber team.

I am not saying it is perfect. I am saying they are by formation different and throwing more. And for the record, they don't have the offensive talent on this 2018 team that the 2014 and 2015 team had. On defense, it is consistent with 2014 and 2015. Probably overall a little better, neither of those teams had a LB like Devin White (probable first rounder), they did have 1st rounders at CS and Safety (this team does as well) and I would say this DL, while not great, is better than 2014 and 2015.

Again, is the offense perfect. No. But they have done away with being 21 and 22 personnel almost 80-85% of the time and they are in fact throwing it more. That is not a debate point, it is a fact.

And as I said, I liked Miles and defended him against unfair attacks back on my days over at Tigerbait.com.

Easy

2013-2016 no 6 win SEC seasons

If we beat aTm Coach O will have provided us 2 straight 6 win seasons.

You can see why Miles had to go in my posts above.

IF IF IF....every counter argument is based on the fact that LSU will beat aTm. What if they don't?
