Expectations for a convincing LSU victory

I don't make predictions since January 2012, so I won't predict a score here - I have no idea, and I guess anything is "possible," which is why the games must be played (unless you're Michigan, of course).
But my expectation is that LSU wins convincingly. Yes, both Chambliss and Lacey (if healthy) are studs, but I do not believe two players can beat you (see, Manziel, Johnny) if the defense executes and maintains assignments - which I believe our Defense will.
Yes, we have only played two games against less-than-stellar opponents, but the Defense has executed at a very high level with very few miscues. To me, that's key regardless of the quality of opponent. Therefore, I expect the Defense to continue to execute and be assignment-disciplined and severely hamper the OM offense.
On offense, perhaps I'm just wearing purple lenses, but I think the Clemson game is the more true snapshot of our potential. I think the miscues and sluggishness of the first half against LA Tech were MOSTLY due to the emotional letdown following the blowout the week before.
My gut (ok, maybe my heart) tells me Sam will be on-point this week and the timing with his receivers almost has to improve as the season progresses.
Here's to hoping I'm right.

A bit of that and a bit of the fact that they practiced for Ole Miss as much during LA Tech week as they did for LA Tech. The offensive scheme was also very bland. No creativity, very little stretching the field, lots of runs between the tackles into loaded boxes.
They ran plays they knew they needed to work on, not necessarily the ones they thought would be effective vs Tech.

Honestly I want to pick LSU in a blowout too. But I'm just worried that I'm biased, but defense travels and our defense looks so much better than Ole Miss defense. On paper I can convince myself that this could get pretty lopsided if our defense gets stops and the offense scores early and the crowd quiets down a bit.
One thing I haven't seen talked about much by anyone is idk if Leavitt has ever played a road game like this. Yes he's been to the playoffs but that was a neutral site. He has played an SEC road game before, ASU played at Mississippi St last year and he went 10/22, 1 TD 2 picks and Oxford is going to be crazier for this game than Starkville. I know his supporting cast and coaching is different this time around but still, his shaky passing in 2 home games and seeing that performance at MSU is at least something that warrants some concern imo. He needs to protect the ball

Not an unreasonable concern. I think the perceived (at least) relative weakness of the OM defense is helpful in that regard, though.

I agree about the Defense and believe they will seriously hinder the OM Offense.
I don't believe Sam will be "on-point" anymore than what we've seen. I certainly believe he has been coached to protect the ball. I feel he does that, along with keeping drives alive (legs/arm) and putting LSU in scoring position.

When bringing up any Leavitt game from last year keep in mind he had foot surgery after the season so he was playing with an injury.

Jarvis Landry made a good point about lacy on his pod: he isn’t a PHYISCAL runner. He’s a guy if you attack him with physicality he will crumble. I think this unit is even more physical and nasty than last year we can make him quit just like Louisville did

I'll take the Tigers in this one for two reasons:
I like our defense against their offense . OM is dealing with problems on their Oline, and at least one of our DL's is hungry for blood. Chambliss can hurt you if you let him - but we're more than capable of setting both edges to keep him in the pocket while pressuring him to throw out of rhythm, which is the key to beating him. Ditto for their RB - he'll have to either bulldoze his way through our line and LB's or try to beat us to the edge, and I think our D is more than up to that challenge. And finally, if you can make Chambliss uncomfortable and rushed in the pocket then their receivers aren't going to make many plays against our DB's.
Advantage - Tigers.
I like our offense against their defense. Even if you assume the worst and we don't pass any better than we did against LaTech I still think we can move the ball in the air against OM's backfield. And I think our running game will beat the hell out of the OM DL and LB's, wearing them down, which will only make it easier to throw against them. In the end, I think even a middling LSU offense can hurt the OM defense.

I won't speculate on the score because anything can happen. Injuries, bad turnovers, bad penalties/no-calls, brainfarts, they're all likely to happen in this game. OM may be arse on defense and our D might be able to shut them down, but it's still likely to be a fistfight for at least two quarters.
But overall, I think LSU simply wears them out on both sides of the ball and leaves with a W.
