LSU is 18th most expensive season ticket. The prices given are the minimum cost.

Note: LSU is sixth in the SEC behind Auburn(4th overall), Georgia(7), Tennessee(8), Alabama(9), and South Carolina(12).
And we definitely aren't the 18th best football program in the country nor the 6th best in the SEC. and we still have fans complaining

Basically the product on the field has been OVERachieving given the level of prices compared with other programs.

You are in denial if you don't think it was dead on campus. Of course, you seem to be in denial about alot of things.

Im sorry 92000 fans didn't meet your expectations...but that stadium was loud as hell. Ask the bama players...some commented on how loud it was.

The stadium was loud, but no louder than a subpar game from even the Dinardo years.

And to think a week ago I was joking about the fact that when we go to Cowboys Stadium next year to play Oregon we will have to pay $40 to park. What I thought was the exception has become the rule.

I'll try to find the link with the estimated number of people on campus.

The real problem is that the State is in a budget crunch, and our legislature is about to gut higher education. Financial armageddon is predicted for July 2011. In response, the Athletic department has been asked to pick up addition costs that the university previously covered, and to cover those costs the athletic department is trying to find other sources of revenue.

LSU is very close to being fundamentally damaged. LSU has had big cuts the last few years, with even bigger cuts on the horizon. Yet with all this going on, the only time people really react to it is when they raise the price of parking for football games. It makes me sad.

So, what you need to do is call your congressman tell them to support higher education, even if all you really care about is a good spot for tailgating a few weekends each year.

One good thing about paid parking is that it will play a part in the decision factor of those fans that have no intentions of going to the game much less really care about LSU - aka "the socialites" that want to brag to people at work on Monday morning about tailgating and getting loaded on gameday.

There's been a steady influx of those types over the last ten years that clog traffic up.

I've been saying this for years, but I actually prefer road games. The hassle of getting onto and off of campus during home games is ridiculous. The ridiculous traffic and the trashy tailgaters who treat the campus like a dumping ground. The drunken, obnoxious fans who care more about getting their drink on and starting fights than watching the game is irritating. My section in Tiger Stadium on the west sidelines is now mostly corporate types who give their tickets to visiting fans or to people who come to be seen, make 5 trips to the concession stand, and participate in the wave rather than cheer for the Tigers. The road LSU crowd is typically the more serious football fan. They cheer loudly and are not the negative "we suck" type of crowd. That being said....I'll probably pony up for the paid lot next year and have my arse right back out there. Geaux Tigers!

or go back in time to rewrite the state's constitution that basically leaves us no option but to cut higher education budgets because everything else is protected

If you can do it, that would work too.

But the point is, dont just bitch about the symptoms. Recognize the root problem and consider doing something productive about it.

So if I pay to park will LSU get a security guard out there to monitor people damaging cars?

I mean in past 6 years I've parked out by River Road and I've had mirrors knocked off, scratches, someone has hit me from behind, and various other dents.

I tacked it up to parking in a free lot and things happen since no one cares. I've also thankfully not parked my new car there but my work car.

I used to think this way.. but it is really the opposite, for the regular fans the price is going down significantly if you just give up your season tickets and buy on campus at game day.. the only thing is you cant sit in the same seat every game and you get to save money...as the prices go up they get in the hands of more of the "bandwagon, faux, nuveaux fans" who just want to go to the "big" games, so any non-sec game or cupcake game is basically free, then if we lose once and are out of the MNC race most you will pay for a big game is face (no -surcharges), lose twice tickets are 1/2 price all year at most for the "big" games, any game gets moved up to 2:30, the most is face for a "big game" (no surcharge).....

This is the other thing that kills me. People can buy the pass and still NOT be guaranteed a spot in the area. This whole thing is just insane.

And that only means you lack comprehension skills. The issue isn't "how many". It's "what type of fans are coming to the games"
