If it's going to cost $40 to park in a lot that's not that great, how much extra would it be for an actual parking pass (I'm guessing $500-700 per season)? I know that donation and ranking are factors as well...

You're only accounting for the $40 parking, that's why I said average, which includes the $20 parking.

Also, neutral site games are becoming more popular because they generate similar revenue without the overhead, and the school doesn't have to give up a future home date. In fact, several people within the athletic department have said publicly that they would like to see more neutral site games scheduled.

Have a nice day.

I find it interesting that tailgaters are complaining about parking fees when portable flat-screen TV's, generators, satellite dishes, and custom trailers are common sights in parking lots on game days.

Now, I know not everyone is set up like that... but there's enough of them to tell me that extravagance is a tailgating virtue to many at LSU.

If you can't afford the parking fee, maybe you should scale back a little? Buy a little less beer... maybe use a less annoying sound system for your cool jams?

Budget cuts affect everyone at LSU. I've been saying this for months. There are many that will see this as a money grab by LSU... but guess what? LSU needs the money.

Don't like it? Talk to the legislature.

Jesus. You created an argument where there wasn't one to begin with. The price was for that one person that said what it would cost HIM. Not the average price numb nuts. It will "only" cost me $240 next year and $320 most years after next. Still doesn't change the fact that it's bullshite. Btw, do you even go to games?

this shite has me all riled up this morning.

I was riled up all last night. My wife had to tell me to calm down

All I can say is if we're paying to get onto campus now, the bathrooms should be open when the first car is allowed on campus at 5 AM, and there better not be any garbage can "hunts" or calls to facility services taking place next year.

I also think LSU is opening themselves up to some liability issues with this. If someone's car is damaged or shite is stolen after they've paid to park on campus, LSU could be held responsible. Those signs you see in paid parking lots that say "we're not liable for damage, theft, fire, etc" are bullshite.

Regardless, it's going to suck to have 2 trucks out there and any empty lot behind our spot while everyone in our group hauls their shite with them every week.

Yes, and I've been paying $20 a game to have people not break into my car for 6 years. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Get the frick out with this shite. Who are you to tell people how to spend their money?

And virtually no one that I've talked to is pissed because they're charging to park. We're pissed because LSU is price gouging the tailgaters. If they were charging $10 to park on campus, I'd be fine with it. I don't expect shite for free, but when someone tries to rip me off, I get really pissed.

I drive in from Houston, get a hotel room, tailgate, tickets and gas. I am $600 out before I buy my first Tiger Water for $4. They are sucking the gas out of the thousands of us who cross the Sabine River on a weekly basis.

Have you thought about being a Rice Owl fan...

just kidding. That sucks!

gouging

this is where the difference comes in.
LSU keeps this up and its going to price people out.
Want to ruin #1 tailgate place in the country...keep it up.

To me its gouging.. to others its "neccassary" costs.

That's the side of campus I live on, and when band hall construction began, it removed a large number of parking on the north side of campus.

Would anyone object if the price to park was brought down to say 15 and 25 bucks or something?

The pink areas should be $20 and the green should be $10. $20 to park by fricking Tigerland is insane.

Does ROTC and those doing community service not pick up trash anymore?

ROTC has NEVER picked up trash to my knowledge.....portal guards within the stadium, yes.....pulled that duty quite a few times....

I like the idea of the streaming app...that also means upping the capacity of the cell phone system around TS (which is a good idea)....

I also think paying for a RESERVED tailgate spot if you don't have a RV would be a good idea also....

There are a lot of ways around not paying or minimizing your costs for parking....you just have to be a bit creative in your thinking about it!!!

I would be fine with $10-$20.

Lets be glad it is only $40. After all we pay $40 for a3 hour game. We tailgat for 9 hours we should be glad we are not charged $120.

BTW I am surpised no one has brought up how we pay to watch our offense stay in park for 3 hours, so why not have to pay to park for a tailgate.

For all the complaining everyone seems to do any time prices go up, I believe LSU is still one of the cheapest. You people expect to put a grade A product on the field and stay competitive with facilities around the country, but you dont want to pay for it. Kinda reminds me of the mentality of a certain demographic in this country

the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
