Why do Etling long passes are so inconsistent and most of his long passes are lamb duck lob that's hard for our WR to judge and catch the ball. Do you blame the missed catch on the WR or QB inconsistent and inaccurate lobbing throw.

Because he has below average arm strength and when he has to launch it he loses accuracy.

When he steps up in the pocket he is more inaccurate, than when he has time and can set his feet and throw. The better the blocking is uonfront the more accurate he is.

Huh?

Etling is bad on the long ball because he routinely double clutches and hesitates. It's like he waits for the WR to clear the DB rather than anticipating that he'll be where he needs to be when the ball gets there. He doesn't have exceptional arm strength to make up for the hesitation.

Hesitation has pretty much been his problem all year. He seldom throws someone open. He waits for separation before he throws, hence his low INT rate, but mediocre completion percentage as DBs recover.

99.9% of you couldn't throw a football 20 yards.

People on the rant can't throw a ball 20 yards, therefore Etling is above reproach. Am I understanding this correctly?

It's the new holiday replacement for a "turducken".

It's delicious.

Video it and post it. I think you're underestimating 40 yards.

It's lame duck you f.s.. His long passes are so high that the WR missed judge it and since it's so high it's also not accurate. My thread was do you blame the QB or WR for not completing the pass.

I've been very critical of DE16's passing in the past. But Saturday against the Hogs he showed marked improvement and even hit Chark in stride twice for long TDs. Don't know what changed but I say "Dilly, Dilly"!

He still missed on a couple others but overall it was a great improvement.

Way to go Danny!

I appreciate Etling for being available to plug a hole when LSU needed it. He runs hard and doesn't slide. He plays to the best of his abilities.

Imagine if we didn't have Danny right now.
