Luginbill is correct in the fact that Bama would be favored over everyone in the country right now on a neutral site; however, they can't be ranked in your top 5 at the moment because they did lose a game granted it took 5 turnovers and deflected balls to result in big plays for the other team

No. Ole Miss beat Bama. Bama was not playing against themselves. I love it when the other team does not get all the cred and it is just unlucky that the favored team gets the TOs. Its part of the game. A team is not as good as it thinks if it turns over the ball five times at their house. And the opposing D typically may have something to do with it. Either a good strip, a DB being at the right place at the right time on an errant throw. Its not all just blind luck.

Bama does not deserve to be considered top team. Arguably top 3 or 5. But not when you lose at home early in season. And not very respectful of the undefeated teams when a one loss team is considered number one.

When I see something like this, all I can do is think the reporter is saying this with Saban's dick in his mouth. I am surprised you could make the list out of all that gagging he was probably doing though

Alabama number 1 because they Alabama and they crushed Georgia who played NOBODY until last Saturday. By using this logic the number one team in the country should be Florida since they destroyed Ole Miss.

The game against UGA was in slop which is a bummer because who is to say they Tee it up tomorrow and UGA doesn't win the game?

Tom is all over Alabama because of Saban's stack of #1 recruiting classes and the fact that Coker looks better and the D is a typical Bama D.

Sucks, but they are very good...we knew this though, it just amazing that Saban never seems to field a 9-3 team anymore like he did at LSU...

A month ago, I'd say we beat them in T town, now, that game we're probably the underdog by 4 pts..

We shall see

Bama lost to Ole Miss at home who got embarrassed by Florida, and they are #1.

Why does everyone in the media like bama so much.

Alabama has looked good in one game this year. This board is so bipolar. When they lost to Ole Miss it was "they are done" and now they win a big game and its "omg Bama goat". The truth is Bama is most likely somewhere between the team we saw against Ole Miss and the team we saw at Georgia.

they need to have an over-react emoticon.

Seriously.

You guys see one game and "they are very good"....despite the fact the QB has been suspect most of the year, as has the secondary. They played a close game against what has turned out to be a very weak Wisconsin game.....did not destroy Middle Tenn....lost to an Ole Miss team that just might be pretty bad....and then beat a Georgia team badly, that had a resume of:

Southern La
ULM
Vandy
South Carolina

Tell me....have you ever thought of actually giving Saban a BJ? Seriously? If you did, would you swallow?

Florida destroyed the team that beat bama at bama. Should the gators be #1?
Your logic is silly.

u be loving you some of that xbox spread em up Baylor Briles offense huh??? Playing all those tough defenses in the Big 12.....Baylor is a joke dude....why can't little kids like yourself understand....they have an offense that thrives when they play defenses that have less talent than them....but when they play defenses with equal or more....it's usually a totally different ballgame. It just blows my mind how you kids can't see this.

oh, so you set point spreads in vegas right? I mean obviously that's how you know this.

I heard a odds guy the other day on the radio...your statement here is wrong. Bama would be the underdog in at least 3 games currently...at least according to him. Either way, who gives a frick. Bama isn't done losing yet.

Florida? Utah? Baylor? TCU?

Bama beats Georgia and all of a sudden they are the best team in the country again? What if Georgia wasn't that good? Why not have Florida #1?

Having Bama #1 right now is retarded.

ESPN is hilarious.

ESPN is not a human; it's a network.

Tom Luginbill IS a human. Do you see where this is going? ESPN gives a voice to many commentators. If one says something and then another says something different, it's not hypocrisy or inconsistency. It's two different people saying two different things at two different times.
