Plus, he'd probably come cheap compared to more established coaches, and finances have to be a concern for a cash-strapped university, especially after Miles was paid a buyout of at least $10 million.

WTF? This stupid statement nullifies the entire article.

If miles was still the coach we probably wouldn't have won either game. He has done a great job of getting things in line quickly as possible. By that alone should tell you he know exactly what to do. Plus he's probably the best recruiter in the country besides nick saban.with orgeron as head coach, we won't skip a beat as for recruiting wise.

Two games, two major LSU offensive records. This is a good trend. I'm OK with this.
Set more Offensive Records and win out against SEC Big Boy's OM, Bama, Ark, Florida and A&M.

Then and only then does he get the job!

Most of you people are insane. I can't believe there are actual cucks here who want Ole Miss's sloppy seconds. You guys are infatuated because Coach O isn't Les Miles, but please get your head out of your arse. He hasn't done shite to secure this job yet people want to crown him. Sad. Cucks. Sadcucks.

After fricking up the Jimbo hire, these "LSU insiders" need to start shutting the frick up.

He's totally unproven. He's only been a head coach at a second tier program for a year and a half and he is winning, but he is winning with someone else’s players. You don't pay someone like that the big bucks until he is proven. Once he’s proven that he can do the job; then he will get the big money.

As for as coach O goes, well he is in the process of auditioning for the job, let's see how he does. If he wins out, as far as I'm concerned the job is his. If he doesn't, then we go from there, but no way I'm going to offer an unproven head coach that's only coached a year and a half at a second tier school and has won with another coach's players more money than I would offer coach O. Come on, I’m not crazy. After all, LSU is one of the premier schools in the SEC and one of the best jobs in the country. It would be a golden opportunity for Herman to get his foot in the door. If he can't see that, then he needs to go take a hike.

Now, on the other hand, I’d be willing to give up the big bucks for Jimbo, but Jimbo is a proven coach and also has a national championship under his belt.

You don't have to be an insider to predict this, it's simply ranking the candidates and at this point. Orgeron probably is the third choice behind Herman and Fisher.

You got it wrong, there is no strong demand for unproven coaches with only a year and half experience coaching at a second tier school and winning with another coach’s players, not at one of the premier schools in the SEC and one of the best coaching jobs in the country. Give me a break. You don’t sell the appeal of the LSU job short. LSU is a very coveted coaching job. If Herman is smart he will jump at the opportunity to get his foot in the door and then do a good job to earn a greater paycheck, if he isn’t, then he can go take a hike.

With respect to Jimbo, he has strong LSU ties and there used to be a rumor going around that LSU is his dream job. Not to mention that there are not too many schools in the country that can afford to pay for a proven top-notch head coach with a national championship under his belt, and frankly I don’t think that Jimbo would ever leave Florida State for any school, but he just might to come to LSU. So if coach O trips up, let’s find out if he will, but it’s going to be expensive if he does. We should have taken him last year, but the powers that be screwed the pooch.

CEO coached at Miami under Jimmy Johnson and Dennis Erickson (on a national champion winning staff), USC under Pete Carroll (national champion winning staff), yet all you can come up with is his first crack at being a head coach at Ole Miss?

The man has a resume, has the right experience, can recruit his dick off, and has shown that he learns from his mistakes and improves.

What more does LSU need right now? Herman and/or Fisher would be just a fan pleaser hire. Go ahead and get Herman out your head anyway. LSU is not going to outbid Texas.

Thats because not many schools could lure him away from FSU. LSU is one of the schools that can.

If USC, Texas and LSU all become available Herman may be a legit candidate at all 3. That defines strong demand.

Thats being said, I would still prefer Jimbo at this point.

I seriously dont get why folks dont want O. I am not saying we sign the man to 10 year contract and eleventy billion dollar buyout. But for fricks sake, we just endured the last 4 years under atrocious, non transparent, football under Les. The least we can do is give this guy a shot. This is the first team that has steadily improved game to game that we've had in a LONG time.

Rant will flip its shite if we get another guy and he goes 8-4 first season here because he has no connections and doesnt get SEC.

C'mon you negatards... we've had some pretty bad football of late. Let's enjoy the entertainment and see what O can do in 2-3 years.

Other candidates bring more experience (Jimbo) or more success (Herman). It's not rocket surgery or brain science.

Doesn't know his arse from the proverbial hole in the ground.

Alleva is going to stake his job on Orgeron without even looking at what else is out there? I don't think so.
Orgeron may do enough for strong consideration but I would guess they are making a run at a short list. Orgeron is great fall back because he can recruit and he has worked with some great college coaches.
No one really knows at this point.

Many LSU insiders say this is what athletics director Joe Alleva has wanted to do since the day he fired former coach Les Miles.

It's sad when journalist can make shite up. Alleva has stated that he is taking the rest of the season as an audition for Coach O. That does not mean he wants him as head coach, and if you ask me, taking the rest of the season as an audition seems perfectly reasonable.
