Reid is finding out that free speech is not without consequences. He can surely run his mouth, but the boss sets the terms of employment. Words and actions that directly impact the bottom line will almost always result in discipline of some sort.

Coming from a deisabled combat veteran, I have one thing to tell Eric Reid , & that''s frick you. There are lots of us who risked our lives for the right to live a free life , and our flag is the very symbol of what we fought for. I'm not trailer park trash , & i wouldn't doubt that Eric Reid is bankrupt by the time he's my age, and I couldn't care less.
I hope every one of the sorry mother frickers who slighted our nation are singled out, and blackballed from the NFL. Let 'em make a real living, and then they'll plenty to whine and moan about, and maybe they'll go on strike & even lose that . frick 'em all.

Eric Reid made $14 million in the first 5 years of his career. he'd be luck to make half that if he plays another 5 years. I'm guessing that he's planning on capitalizing on his actions as an activist. He'll have a much longer career collecting checks for speaking engagements, collecting a salary from a non-profit and sitting on some boards trying to achieve diversity. And no concussions to boot.

Study the history of tariffs prior to the Civil War and you will find how lopsided the amount paid by the South to the Federal government was. Study port fees and export charges before the Civil War and you will see how the north was making forty cents out of every dollar earned by the South in exporting their goods to Europe. The regulations put in place FORCED the South to export through northern ports and in addition to this, tarrifs were structured to penalize Southern exports and protect northern manufactured goods. This made importing competitive goods from Europe more expensive than purchasing them from the north. Everywhere you looked, the South was being screwed by the north, financially.
When the South declared itself free, the north saw itself going broke and losing it's ability to steal from the south. The Federal government was financed almost entirely by the South, yet federal investment in infrastructure such as rail roads, etc. went primarily to support northern interest. This had been going on for forty years and getting worse and worse until the South had enough and left. Then, Lincoln had to do something to justify an invasion and FORCE them unwillingly to remain a part of the Union. They didn't give a shite about slavery. All they cared about was keeping the money flowing. Remember, slavery was LEGAL and in no danger of being ended when the war started. This alone is proof that it was NOT fought over the issue of slavery.

The freedom of expression is a two way street. Reid is an ignorant individual if he doesn't understand that concept. He's free to express himself just like NFL teams are expressing their disinterest in him. This is a cut throat sport, Reid wasnt GOAT. Pretty simple really.
