The humane thing to do would be for Woody to put Paul down to take him out of his misery and suffering, before he totally drags the program down with him. Until then, the rich storied tradition and legacy of LSU baseball will remain on life support.

Smoke Laval was fired after a 13-17 SEC record in 2006. This 2021 LSU team will never even get close to 13 SEC wins. It's time.

Let it play out. Too early in the season to fire him.

The damage is done, and it would spook potential hires, canning a HC two weeks into Conference play. It's just going to be ugly.

Look I think it’s time for a change too but you have to give Paul the respect of finishing the season. He’s earned it.

But yeah. It’s time after this year.

A mass exodus of transferring players who CPM has ruined LSU to and run off could also spook potential hires.

But what happens when we sweep the last series or make a run in the tournament? We can’t fire the hero coach who pulled the team back together.

That type of thinking kept Les Miles around in 2015.

I mean...shouldn’t that go into consideration?

Agree. Normally you try to let a coach ride things out until the end of the season but this isn’t normal. CPM looks like he has issues possibly outside Baseball. His body language is obviously showing his depression and the players are being subjected to a coach who has lost their respect. I don’t know what is going on with CPM but obviously CPM doesn’t want to coach any longer. Damn you can see it and TV cameras are displaying it for everyone to witness for themselves. Vanderbilt is a great team and that is not the question because CPM has lost this team. They seem to have zero respect for CPM. It is time to end this embarrassing display.

Fire him today.

End the misery.

Letting this drag on would be cruel to PM and the fans.

Wait.

Your complaining that we wouldn’t be able to fire him if we made a run?

If this team comes together and makes it to the CWS then you obviously don’t fire him.

If he wins games in the CWS then it was a successful season and you bring him
Back. What’s the whole goddamn point of the season if not to finish in contention for the national title???

But if you’ve seen our pen you should realize - that ain’t happening.

No it’s the frick not. My thought process is simple- Paul has made you a contender for over a decade and ran a clean ship. He deserves the respect to finish the season.

The type of thinking that kept Les was it cost too much and it was bad for public perception.

It had nothing to do with the results on the field. You’re blind if you can’t see that. Woody ain’t gonna get big-dicked by anyone

Stop being so emotional and breathe.

Not saying we should fire him now, but what has he done to "earn it." It's not like he's a volunteer coach. My question is, what has he done to deserve it? Even in the wins, he's been out coached in most if not all of our games.

Fire him now. Let’s see how the team reacts. I bet they play with fire after that prick is gone

No it wouldn’t. Every coach knows that you get a honeymoon, and after that you have to perform or be fired. Competitors aren’t scared of that one bit. I don’t think they should fire him during the season, but that’s just because there would be nothing to gain.

It would be beneficial to the program if an agreement were made with PM and announced that this is the last season. It would relieve strain in the dugout, give Staff a leg up on securing positions elsewhere, and it would be advantageous in being ahead of the curve in hiring a replacement.
