the offense may improve next year because Burrow will be our best offensive coach on staff this offseason working with the rest of the guys. and that's because he was well coached before he got here.

Our best players the last 2 years have been sophomores lol. LSU had the 3rd most snaps from freshmen in the country last year among P5 team's. Like wut? Is this a new myth rantards will try and perpetuate?

I should have been more specific, I was talking on offense.

Clearly yielding dividends this year.

SE is the one lacking in the mental dept of football.
I swear you people are beyond sad.
. Yeah, SE is an amazing OC. That has to be the reason why he wasn't hired to be a full-time OC from 1998 through 2018. He was just too good for anyone to want.

Learning the playbook is on the player. You can’t force players to study it. It appeared to me that playing time was given based on preparedness. The problem with that was that we had much less talented players out there in key moments.

In older offensive systems, yes. Many, many modern offenses can essentially create plays on the fly if they really wanted to simply by play verbiage.

I.e. the name of the play tells everyone what they are doing.

Even then, our offense lacks shifts and motions. (Forget about Canada himself, his concepts have modernized even NFL offenses by applying shifts and motions to their own play design. Tony Romo spoke extensively about shifts and motions and even jet sweeps being necessary in any offense now)

Offense seems to also lack option routes on passes.

Screens only ran out of traditional sets.

Almost no reaction via play calling against pressure except keep more people in to block.

Sounds like a coaching issue. Or are we supposed to believe that the vast majority of players on offense cant absorb two plays in the huddle for an audible?

The coach mentioned in some games we had problems with audibles. Did he say we had issues with audibles v Arkansas?

We struggled v Arkansas because we had just been crushed by Bama, we were flat and it was cold. The game plan was pretty ordinary too.

So 9 games 2 months later...
Why the frick are we struggling to score 24 points on Arkansas, the 108th scoring offense in the country?

This was a major problem.

Ensminger may be good, don't know but scripting a whole new offense with the personnel we had was a recipe for perpetual issues

No, it's really easy. Half the guys here can do it. Just ask them.

The offense is still outdated and there isnt a soul on the current coaching staff that would get a coordinator position over younger coaches at FCS schools and probably even some highschools.

Therefore, I dont really care what Ensminger has to say as it's just a bunch of excuses.

I then listed things that NEWER offenses are doing that Ensminger isnt and you want me to care about him not having but 1 fullback to use?!

Better?

Love the “you couldn’t do better”
Arguement.

Sure maybe not me, but it looks like probably 50 other OCs could.

And that’s really who he is being judged against

I don't want you to care about anything and I didn't see you list anything so no it's not better.

50 OCs don't play in the SEC.

Jeff Brohm, one of those up and comers. Really gets hyped up.
He's losing to Auburn 63-14 in the fourth quarter right now and struggling to move the ball.

LSU plays in the SEC. Many of those other hot shots play where little D is played. Stuff that works in the Big 12 or PAC 10 and the smaller conferences won't work in the SEC.

SE is pretty average, but with more talent our O would be better. Much better.

He’s also coaching Purdue.

More coaches do better with what they have than ensminger did with whatbhe had.

Even if you think we aren’t very talented, he got nothing out of this offense.

Now I agree with this... IMO we don't have a clue how good this offense is or could have been...........

What does this have to do with it?

You've said repeatedly that LSU offense is 130th and everyone's offense is better. Also we've been told time after time that talent on offense doesn't matter you can still win without an offensive line.

So I would think that coaching at Purdue wouldn't matter.
