Kids in good high school football programs can handle simple audibles when coached up. An emphasis on attention to detail does wonders. Our coaches are the ones who can’t do their job - having the players prepared.

SE installed a new O and in game one we started a QB, a TB, 3 WRs and two OL who had never started a game at LSU.

The QB had never thrown a pass at LSU and the three WRs had never caught a pass at LSU.

Then we faced injury issues on the OL.

And people are surprised we had issues in games???

So 9 games 2 months later...
Why the frick are we struggling to score 24 points on Arkansas, the 108th scoring offense in the country?

This was a major issue under Les/Cam as well from my view. Funny that that would continue when you promote the TE coach from that very regime to run the offense.

It really is mind boggling that people thought hiring Les's TE coach was a good idea.

If after 12 games he’s going to say he never used more than 30% of his offense, there is something seriously wrong with his offense.

If after having the 10th best offense in the SEC, he doesn’t think there’s anything he could personally do better, he has a serious problem. imo

I believe it totally. These wr's have been a disappointment with the exception of JJ. I mean what good is a receiver if he can't grasp the offense or run crisp routes? Easy answer, he's not going to play. Saban once said "a 5 star cornerback is of no use unless he can play with proper techniquee". So true.

Maybe he's just being honest. Can't fault him for that.

If as a man, he feels he did everything he could to make this a top offense, then we have to be happy with that.

Yep! There is a common denominator in here somewhere.

This is an obvious sign we lack in coaching

I wonder how much this has to do with the OL, because that certainly may be it.

Charles certainly looked lost at times this year. There were times where he looked like he had no idea who he should be blocking. Perhaps he is one of the players Ensminger is talking about.

Charles was in and out, LG was rotated heavily. We simply couldn't find any combo that worked really. They really looked lost this season on the OL.

“ A top offense”

I’ve given up on a top offense. After 2 HCs and 3 OCs, I’ll settle for a respectable SEC offense and being able to score a TD vs Bama in TS.

This was a major problem.

Ensminger may be good, don't know but scripting a whole new offense with the personnel we had was a recipe for perpetual issues

Somehow I think he’s talking about the WRs

I've said it before that the Rohan Davey interview with Moscona a couple of weeks ago was eye opening. The conversation concerning the wide receivers didn't inspire confidence.

Also the interview with Mike Detillier was informative as well.

Wasn't Sullivan brought over from the NFL?

I wonder if he just took for granted that the players had the fundamentals down?

Once the season starts you don't have time to work on much but the gameplan.

I can't help but believe that the state of the wide receivers as a group was a failure on the WR coaches.

Nearly every successful program in this country plugs and plays freshman. At LSU we are lucky if a guy is successful by his junior year.

Our best players the last 2 years have been sophomores lol. LSU had the 3rd most snaps from freshmen in the country last year among P5 team's. Like wut? Is this a new myth rantards will try and perpetuate?

So what's the solution? Is there a communication problem? A culture problem?

Can Ensminger do anything more than he's done? He says he wouldn't change a thing this past season.

We have no choice but to be happy with that; we're not getting a new OC anytime soon.
