my 87 year old father passed away in the wee hours of the morning; he was, of course, my favorite tiger fan, and got me embroiled in this lunacy back in the mid-60's when lsu beat arkansas in that famous cotton bowl. we lived hundreds of miles from b.r., but tiger football was one of his heart throbs. many fond memories of going to games when tailgating was nothing more than a box of fried chicken and a couple of folding chairs in the parking lot, before things graduated to the 'portable restaurants' of today. i, for one, am proud of the tigers for what they pulled off on saturday against the rebs !

Sorry to hear that - we owe a lot to our Tiger-loving parents, don't we? I, too, remember when tailgating was, well, tailgating - with a sandwich at your car in the field. Hope he keeps cheering us on from above.

You are lucky to have had your father that long! I lost mine when he was 63 and i was 36. I will be 63 next year. He was always a Tiger Fan and i still miss him.

A Christian loss is just a wait until you are reunited. But the pain remains and you will truly miss him. But it sounds as if you have a life full of fond memories to hold you over. I enjoyed the game myself and thought it was another great victory. May God bless and keep you and yours.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your grand father. I know the feeling and I always enjoyed listening to the games on the radio with my dad and grand dad.

My dad is of the same generation as yours and, like you, I hold him responsible for dragging me into this enjoyable, frantic, maddening, stressful, blissful hobby we call LSU athletics. I curse him and thank him at least once a week.

Luckily I still have my Dad and will see him on Thanksgiving. When I give him a hug I will hold on just a little longer than normal in memory of your Dad. I truly feel your pain.

May his life be for a blessing to all who knew him.
