Condolences to you and your family. Have a similar legacy with my father who passed away in 2010. We owe a lot to those great guys who got us seats on this glory train back in the day. Being a Tiger fan is not the be-all-and-end-all but it is one of life's simple pleasures that endures through good times and bad.

Sorry for your loss.
Your grandfather sounds a lot like my father (LSU '39), who passed away in 2004. He was such a LSU nut that I was named after Ken Kavanaugh, LSU great, and SEC MVP in 1939.
I (LSU '69) started listening to LSU football, with my father, on the radio in our kitchen, back in the days of Jimmy Taylor. Those were the days of John Ferguson as the radio broascaster. I can still hear Ferguson making the calls.
Blessings to you and your family.

Condolences to you and your family.
I'll never forget getting to see the 03' and 07' championships with my father. Something I'll always cherish.

thanks a million everyone ! back on after spending the last few days remembering dad and then burying him.........only by the grace of God. i will miss him alot, which is an understatement. our greeting on the phone when the tigers would win was always the first few bars of 'hold that tiger'. good year folks; not what we all wanted, but they played their hearts out. take care !

Condolences on your loss. Your Dad had a good run.
Like others in the thread, I lost my parents 30+ years ago.

Sorry to hear that. You'll always have the memories and keep the faith. He has the best seat now to watch the Tigers.
My condolences.

I started going to the games with my parents back in the early 70's, and I remember the tailgating and being at the games in the same way--simpler, but so much fun and so special. I lost my mom nearly 13 years ago, and it was around that time that we quit going to the games. It just wasn't the same. I am very sorry for your loss, and your father's passing is a loss to the Tiger Nation as well. May he rest in peace.

end of an era
A Christian loss is just a wait until you are reunited. But the pain remains and you will truly miss him. But it sounds as if you have a life full of fond memories to hold you over. I enjoyed the game myself and thought it was another great victory. May God bless and keep you and yours.
Perfectly said. Condolences to your family
