Corso is 73 ... stroke was this past May per google ...

WITH GOOD Speech therapy people can make great strides ... it's frustrating for them because they know WHAT they want to say but can't always find the words to get it out ... called apraxia.

I like him ... don't like when he doesn't pick LSU but I like LEE!!!

They've kept Holtz, they should keep Corso. I was with my grandfather when he had a stroke and it was so frustrating for him to try to speak after. Words were forced out and many times he would just stop his sentence because it wouldn't come out right. My grandfather's speech got better after 6 months, but he never regained strength/coordination in his right side and had to learn to become left handed for the final years of his life.

It's painful and brings back memories when watching Corso. Here's to full recovery.

I couldn't remember the term (rather ironic ). Yes. Around the 9th month following my Mom's stroke it was amazing how her speech started to sound normal. Words flowed very easily. Till her dying day she still had moments where she would struggle for a second but it wasn't that noticeable. She had to learn to read and walk again as well. She did and went back to reading at least one book a week.

Well, here's a thought ... like someone else said they still have Lou. Why can't they use/place Lee in a different capacity? Not on Gameday but maybe something else on air???

well if he had the stroke in may, he probably spent his "offseason" recovering and resting.. i give him alot of credit for giving it another go, and maybe he can spend his next offseason repairing

Are you crazy? Lou sounds worse than Corso. What is Lou's excuse?

Honestly? I'm not joking ... I think his dentures don't fit right! I think it was last week I could hear them clacking!

Get better Lee!!!

Good luck to Lee. If you study his life. He is a very interesting individual.

Not so fast, my friend. Strokes take a little time for cognitive abilities to return. if it really was just this past summer, he can make it back. I've known lots of people to have strokes and within 6 months, you'd hardly know it.

Hope that's the case with Corso.

Note to Lee: the Tiger head probably has more room and is more comfortable than that tight fitting gator noggin.

I have always thought Corso made a lot of sense (unlike Lou Holtz) but it is sad to see him have to basically read everything and just say "yeah" and "yes".

BTW, does anyone know who Florida is playing today. The ENTIRE game preview has been about Florida!! Can someone tell me who the opponent is today?

This is the first time that I am getting to watch GameDay this year and I agree that it is tough to watch the impact the stroke is having on Corso's performance. However, I would not be so fast to discard him. If his health holds up then he could make dramatic strides in his speach with added therapy. He appears to be a very hard working man and I am sure that he will fully devote himself to improving his speech. I wouldn't count him out just yet. Geaux Corso!

I think you mean aphasia, it either be expressive (knowing what you want to say and not being able to say it)

I find it funny how so many of you have bashed this guy and talked about how stupid he is and now you feel for him. BTW if he puts on the gator headgear today you same people will bash him again. SAD!!! Get well LEE. YOU ARE GREAT FOR THE GAME!!!!

+1 He's having to be so deliberate, but still pulling for him. He's young enough to make significant progress I believe.

Geaux Lee! You can come back!
