Only empty seats that were noticeable on TV were the top of the East upper deck where the visiting fans typically sit.
Saw lots of sideline lower bowl seats empty on TV, wife even commented on it. I know someone whose company has several lower bowl seat locations, often they go unused.

Is there any way to reduce the seating capacity of the stadium?
WAY too many seats.
WAY too many seats.

I live in Houston and can’t make it to every game, but I’ve been genuinely curious… what would you expect a guy like me to do? I want season tickets because I always want the for sure ability to attend any game I want in a good seat. I have 3 kids and a life that won’t allow me to get to every game. People get mad when I sell tickets. Sometimes I can’t even give the tickets away. What would you people who are critical of this scenario do?

They were sold, but the buyers didn’t show up for the game.

refuse to give up season tickets but refuse to go or don't sell them

They need to pull season tickets that refuse to go or are holding them for conference games only only

The reality is that they are your tickets. You paid for them consequently you can do whatever you want to with them. I don't understand the panic involving empty seats or staying for the whole game. It is your business and no one else's. Today's broadcasting along with ticket prices, ridiculous traffic and overpriced beverages have made in person attendance an exercise in stupidity for many.

at the start of the game it looked that way, but by the end of the first quarter, the lower bowl looked full and remained that way until fans started clearing out at the end of the 4th

Its getting bad. If the rich people don’t want to go to the games, let the people who want to come be there

Many of the yellow seats on both the East and West sides are corporate seats. They are rarely, if ever, full.
This. LSU priced the old-time diehard fans out of these seats so now they are owned by corporations and passed out to people who really don't give a shite about supporting the team for a whole game.
Stadium overbuilt in general. The stadium was plenty large enough before the south upper deck went in.
Plus the generally shitty gameday/stadium attendance conditions. The empty seats all over the TV are on LSU.

Wasn’t packed but the people that where there were really loud. Great atmosphere that I hope gets better with time

That premise assumes that there is more demand for tickets than supply. Pretty sure anybody that really wants to go to a home game can find tickets, often times below what the original owner paid for them.

They need to go in and chair back the whole stadium. Maybe keep the student section as is, but chair back the rest. That kills two birds with one stone. Makes it a more comfortable fan experience, which needs to happen, AND reduces the number of seats in the stadium. Which also needs to happen.

LSU needs to let the unscanned tickets by the 1st quarter go into a lottery of the scanned tickets to see if they want to move to better seats by the 2nd quarter….

Tarp over every other section in both upper decks and sell them as adspace. Consolidate into the half empty sections. Problem solved.

Post the tickets on here/social media. I guarantee you could give them away. Especially if they're lower bowl.

Any time a yellow seat is left empty, even it's only one in a large section of people, it shows up bright and beaming, no matter where you're watching from.
Time for a Gold game....
