Maybe hindsight isn’t always 20/20.

This is a terrible take. I understand having this discussion from before the game. But after watching how the game played out, anyone who still thinks holding Skenes out was the better option is a moron.

But now here we are, tired and not able to represent to our full extent.

What is this nonsense? LSU beat Tennessee and Wake Forest with non-Skenes pitchers. In fact, they dominated those lineups. Our full extent includes going with Skenes against a terrific team that is also throwing their ace.

I'd rather our bullpen face UF than Wake Forest. Wake > UF.

If you had confidence in the bullpen for that game, why not the finals when you have three opportunities?

No one is saying this

Could we have won without Skenes? Maybe

Would it have been the right call to risk it when he's available? Absofrickinglutely not.

Today jay said skenes should be able to go Monday in some capacity. What that is we’ll see but we aren’t in the finals if we don’t throw Him yesterday with the way Lowder was on

Do I have confidence in the bullpen? Yes

Am I confident that the bullpen could’ve held Wake scoreless over 11 innings? No I’m not because I’m not a fricking moron.

he just threw 7.2 SO innings in a 2-0 11 inning game.

I think he was needed

By your logic If we didn’t need him last night then we don’t need him for the next 3

Hurd proved to be capable. Guidry, Cooper. Pitching was going to be tight all game regardless. But definitely could have rode the wave as of late. Sure, records, etc. but Now here we sit, in the CWS Championship
you have no idea Hurd could go 8 scoreless innings against lowler and wake. You would also be one of the first bitching at Jay had we lost that game on why he didn’t pitch Skenes.

Wake went with their top pitcher. For the best chance to win, we had to play Skenes. Otherwise, there is no tomorrow.

You do realize that argument cuts both directions, right? If you have confidence the bullpen would have held Wake scoreless for 11 innings last night, why are you not confident they are capable of winning 1 of the 2 games Floyd doesn’t start against Florida? Which is the tougher ask in this situation?

I started a thread yesterday morning about strongly considering starting Hurd.

I was wrong.

Just think of how epic it will be to beat UF now without Skenes. It’s going to be awesome.

Make it stop, enough about saving Skenes

We have no one else that would’ve out pitched Lowder last night. It was the right call to have Skenes go up against Lowder.

I concentrated to make sure I correctly hit down arrow and not up. One of the worst takes in rant history.
