Filled out the survey they sent and crushed the game start time. Doubt it gets read. They do the surveys looking for particular responses to back up their ideas. They have zero control over game times and apparently no pull in the league office to even sway any favor in that direction.
We were told by the SEC when it brought in Texas A&M and Missouri that every school’s traditions were important and must be maintained. That’s a load of bullshite. One of LSU’s traditions are night games, not mostly night games, but night games, period. Should never be a day game in Tiger Stadium. Put the damn game on ESPN+ if it doesn’t fit their best broadcast plans but every home game should be at night.
And that won’t happen because LSU, the SEC and ESPN/ABC care about how much money more can they make more anything else.

If you email the AD about demanding night games, you’re wasting your time.
What desperately needs to be brought to the administrations attention is how poorly prepared they were for the heat. They were handing people room temp water bottles by the second quarter in my section of the north endzone.
Other schools bring in giant containers filled with ice and ice down 10’s of thousands of bottles. They have cooling stations, cold water stations to refill bottles.
Our school literally did nothing. They’re complicit in every person that had to get medical attention. Their ability to consistently fall short is amazing.

How hard would it be to build a strategic shade system outside of the West side of the stadium?

Is it time for the state legislature to get involved?
I wasn't there yesterday. I been to some hot ones in Tiger Stadium. I used to have seats in the East Tiger Terrace. I have sat out there broiling in the sun. I remember the Mississippi State game some have referred to, I was there. And at some other hot ones too. I watched the game yesterday on my couch. If people say it was the hottest game ever in TS I believe them. There's no excuse for this really, it's ridiculous. Especially when they can't even keep enough cold water available. They are screwing with the health and well-being of the people who love and support the LSU football program.
As was mentioned above, LSU sold out for the money long ago, it should never have happened. They should never have allowed this. And the TV networks certainly do not give a shite.
But LSU is state property, isn't it? The legislature could pass an act forbidding day games in Tiger Stadium (state property). From there a compromise could easily be worked out. No day games until the second Saturday in October, or base day game scheduling on temperature/heat index forecasts the Saturday before the game. It would not be that hard to do.
I am certainly not a Big Government guy but when the parties involved are too greedy to make changes and peoples' health is being affected, maybe it's time for government to step in.
Just the rant of a cranky old on-the-margin Boomer who has been to a lot of LSU games.

Is it any worse than Auburn, Gainesville, College Station? Day games are typical in the rest of the SEC and they don't seem to have a problem with it.

The tickets already sold, but you’re getting 20,000 fewer butts in seats and those are people that would have bought parking and concessions

What's the point? Nothing is going to change. Everybody can't have night games every weekend. Just not possible.
Some would still complain if it was a 11am kickoff.

This. It is inexcusable to run out of cold water at any game, but particularly one where the forecast was for temperatures in the mid 90s and heat index in the 100s. LSU should have some sort of misters or something installed in the corridors of the east side of the stadium where the fans are in the sun for the entire game where the kickoff is 2:30 or earlier. My husband and I are in our mid sixties and have had season tickets on the east side since the 1980s. We have sat through many day games in the heat but yesterday it would have been dangerous for us to sit through that game. We gave away our tickets and parking pass but I have no idea whether they were actually used and I really don’t care. I suppose it will take having a player/coach/official die of a heat related illness for the networks to realize that playing football at 2: 30 pm in South Louisiana is a health risk for the players, coaches, officials and fans. Perhaps we should require the game announcers to call the game sitting in the sun so they can appreciate just how hot it is at these day games.

Fwiw… you could bring in one bottle of water free.. I froze mine and brought it in.. I then bought another bottle in the stadium.. I drank the top off the new cool bottle purchased there.. by then then outside area of my frozen bottle melted so I drank that ice cold water.. for rest of game I would pour some of stadium bought water into my frozen bottle and it slowly melted the block of ice.. lasted until half way through fourth quarter …

I’ll let Woodward know to turn the sun down before the game next time.

I’m sure the AD will talk to someone but it won’t do anything. You can’t just say that every game that is played in the south has to start at 5pm or later until mid October. Thats just not going to happen.

And what was the alternative?
We could've left the conference so we can play whenever we want. Leaving the SEC has done wonders for Tulane, Ga Tech, and Sewanee.

Yea, let’s see if our AD can call God and tell him to make it less Sunny for our football game, lol. What do you think he’s gonna do? Spend 100 million for a retractable roof? Our fans. Smh

Not sure it will help, but share your experience. The Athletics department needs to have testimonies and experiences to make the case to the SEC and other Partners to avoid these games in the future. I know money always wins, but in the case of safety, sometimes exceptions are made.
Under the current contract, ABC and ESPN have full control of game time scheduling. Email away, but they have no ability to change anything and I doubt ESPN cares about anything but filling TV windows.

Eventually I think things will change once heat index winds up hurting a player.
I wouldn’t say it’ll never change, but a fool expects a better result when nothing changes.

I will let them low that I want to ALWAYS be able to know the down and distance to go. When the “get loud” crap is flashing you can’t see any of that.
The time on the clock shows on the middle screen .. put the down and distance.
