We pulled the trigger and went with Marcel, and what a spark he gave us."

Elko is 10x better of a coach than BK ever will be.
frick Kelly. I’m done with him. He’ll never win a NC here. He got steamrolled by teams worth a shite at ND and he’s doing the same here. He barely got to 10 wins with a first-round Heisman QB, what makes people think he’ll be able to win with Underwood? Only thing Kelly has going for him at this point is a No.4 recruiting class.

Elko made a judgment call and it worked, but let’s not over reach, here. Reid was gifted golden opportunities. He ran away with that chance, but it was served up.

If you are implying that we should have put Collins in the game, then you are a fricking idiot.
Reed has 2 starts and has played SEC snaps. And he was playing at home and came in at a moment when his team grabbed all the momentum.
Collins has a handful of garbage time snaps and 3 vs USCe when Nuss had to go out. If you think he would have made a difference coming in ice cold at an unhinged Kyle Field, then you know nothing about football.
This doesn’t even get into the fact that he isn’t even close to the same kind of runner at QB as Reed. Collins has some athleticism, but he’s not a speed guy that will make an entire defense pay attention to the edge.

I’m pissed at Kelly too. But this Elko is better crap is dumb. Saban lost to UAB. And to ULM - are those coaches better than Saban?

Elko gets fired before CBK, book it. Putting Reed in was a hail mary move and it worked this time. Now the rest of the coaches on their schedule have the tape to scheme against. We just happened to be the guinea pig!!

Their defense is stacked, they have a great RB, a good OL (when fully healthy, which they weren’t last night) and some very talented young WRs that just don’t have a reliable QB to get them the ball yet. They 100% have more elite talent and depth on defense than we do right now. You are casual as hell if you don’t understand that.

He also told Holly Rowe that they needed a running QB to open things up and LSU had no idea what to do with him.

The bigger question is- why were they too stupid to start Reed when he can run Klein’s offense and Weigman obviously can’t? That one game vs Missouri was smoke and mirrors. Weigman didn’t look good at all vs State.
That will be masked by the fact that A&M won, but now they really can’t go back to Weigman. And if Reed doesn’t work out when defenses spend all week scheming to stop him, then they will have a big QB problem. And I 100% believe that will happen being that he’s a freshman.

If Nuss doesn't throw those 3 interception Reed would be a nonfactor. Playing while you're ahead allows for those QB runs. If Nuss had protected the ball better, it would have forced Reed to pass more.
