It’s funny how our fan base does this. Considering that several key players (Joe Burrow) on our 2019 team “jumped ship” from their original teams. I don’t recall anyone saying they were “entitled” or “quitters”

OSU bound if I had to guess

Burrow graduated from Ohio State and wasn't getting playing time, anyway. Jumping ship is when you're already a starter, and leave, or you just got to school, and leave because you didn't get immediate playing time. When guys actually give it time, and it's not working where they are, I don't call that jumping ship. Like with Brennan. I'd like it if he stayed, but I can't complain about him after as long as he's waited.

There is also a difference in graduate transferring, like Burrow did, and fulfilling your commitment to the university before moving on.

How about he acts like a man and honor his commitment? Can’t just jump ship and quit when things get tough in life.
While I wish we didn't have anyone transfer either, comparing this to other aspects of life doesn't really work. If the head of your company and 80% of your bosses were about to get fired, would it be crazy for you to look at other places to work?

That’s just a stupid comment

I would have least thought SW has been communicating with players on the potential replacement. My initial thought was maybe he did communicate with the team and the new potential coach let it be known that he wants control over who is on his staff and coaches do not know if they will be retained. I just can't imagine a player entering the portal possibly right before LSU announces the new ball coach.

Screw him and Stingley. Two of the biggest entitled, pussy-whip quitters I've ever seen.

There's been so much smoke around that kid's level of commitment to this program, and I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. I guess in the end, the smoke turned out to be right. Another entitled ship jumper.
THIS ^^. If any player has the slightest rumor of entering the portal, it's inevitably going to happen eventually. I don't understand his reason for leaving. He's a starter and if he wasnt injured all the fkn time he would've played a ton for us and been great. It's not the teams fault he is injured 24/7. Going to another school won't change that. Makes no sense and the portal 100% is ruining CFB

If you were struggling to establish yourself to advance your career, then no. But he has become one of the best players on the team. An all American corner at a power 5 program that is known for producing elite DBs. He’s a first rounder right now. What more can he do to establish himself? He’s the type of guy that new bosses look for to help lead and turn things around.

You have no idea why he wants to leave. It;s just a silly look when we're gonna go looking for top end talent to do the same thing he's doing.
You and I both know why he's leaving. Don't pretend to be ignorant for the sake of being a contrarian. He's not happy, because he doesn't have his guy. Can you think of another plausible reason to walk away from being a starter at LSU?
LSU will no doubt try to find talent. But how many guys have we gotten who walked away from top tier programs, as starters, to come to LSU? How many guys waked away from that to come here?
I remember when there was speculation about Justin Fields transferring here, if the Big Ten wasn't going to play last year. I wanted no part of a guy who had already whined his way out of one school, regardless of any possible legitimate reason he would have had to leave OSU.

There's a million reasons he could be leaving that aren't because of 0. I'ts not contrarian to say I don't know why he decided to do this

But you have your narrative set already, so you do you. But make sure you keep that same energy for any players we bring in over the coming months.

I’ll definitely say that it was super interesting to see how much the defense improved without Stingley and Ricks.
Like when we gave up 42 to Kentucky and Florida?
Or 31 to Ole Miss?
We improved when we actually started making adjustments and most of those were to the what was going on with the DL and LBs.

I tried to tell you guys, LSU is going to lose quite a bit. I'm expecting quite a few starters and 1st rounders to be gone.
Come back in 4 to 5 years. New rules, new world.

A million reasons? Really? Lets see: He's a starter at a premier school, and plays corner for a team that is known to produce more NFL talent than any other school. And his mother assured us that they love it here, and want to be here, and they have a house here, and blah, blah, blah.
But I'm unreasonable to presume that he's leaving because Orgeron is leaving? Sure pal. You go ahead with your pretentious "I'm above it all" charade. No one cares.

It's also messed up that the media would leak this info before the player announced it himself. That's a young man making a man's decision. Let him tell the world.
