Edwards is out for the year.

Sadly, the second opinion revealed worse damage and Edwards is out for the year.
Initially, it was believed to be a flexor strain so he was going to come back for SEC. Sucks, especially for a guy who came out of nowhere to be reliable.

Has Shores OFFICIALLY been ruled out for the year as well? I can't remember seeing anything official but maybe I missed it.

I’m waiting on my source to confirm, but he hasn’t alluded to it, so I’m hopeful. If it was clearly TJ, we’d know.

Oh yeah. All these injuries this season renders the pitchers unavailable next year too.
We will be portal shopping. Starters and relievers. We're still eyeing JUCO arms as well. Things will heat up on the traditional recruiting front once coaches start getting fired. The designated portal entry date means there is a set time for that to start.

From what I heard the tendon is detached and not torn. 6 month recovery instead of lengthy TJ surgery.
All from an unreliable source who knows the family. Grain of salt.
He also told me that they are waiting to get the second opinion next week because the swelling is still there and the MRI could look like it’s detached but it’s not. Again, grain of salt.
