There is nothing more frustrating than trying to figure out an away gameday, where to park, what areas are good. The locals know the in's and out's popular cut thoughts..and it's hard enough for them

Ive been to several LSU away games, and none have been as much of a cluster frick as LSU. Georgia was prob the closest to LSU level because we were coming from Atlanta.

There is a very good chance this will be the 2:30 game, so it shouldn't be too late. You could go eat dinner at Chimes, which is not really a college bar. But, if thats not y'alls thing, and you don't want to walk, your best bet is to just drive yourself or be willing to shell out decent money on an uber/lyft. Stay in the areas I mentioned though.

Also, depending on where your AirBnB is, make sure you get picked up on the right quadrant of campus. Will save you from having to loop around BR just to get to your AirBnB.

Don't stay in the red. Tigerland is the bottom left area.

all the good Airbnb's will probably be away from campus. I'd look at getting a hotel downtown.
Hilton Capital Center,Hampton Inn, Marriott Courtyard,etc..quick access to and from the Stadium area

Have you thought about driving? what part of Atlanta are you leaving from? With airport delays and BS, it might be quicker to drive (Atl to BR ,7-8 hrs)

Atlanta to Montgomery 2.5 hr
Montgomery to Mobile 2.5 hrs
Mobile to New Orleans 2 hrs
Mobile to BR 3 hrs

If you can leave ATL by 3 or 4p Thur. You could be in New Orleans for midnight and have all day Friday in Nola

Tuscaloosa is the worst, there's literally one way in and out.

downtown is definitely the best place to find an AirBNB or hotel. Most of the bars are down there and traffic is way faster in that direction. There's also a bus that goes from downtown to the stadium and back. I think it's $20 round trip but it will most likely cost you more for an uber.

Pretty damn accurate. I will say the area by the new river campus is tight.

i feel like with your condition that you need to get back to the room in a reasonable time after the game, this is your best option.

get room in garden district/spanish town/somewhere not too far from downtown but not in ghetto.
drive over to downtown. plenty of safe parking
buy bus ticket.
uber to campus since the buses won't be running that early (i don't think). if they are, just take the bus.
bus back after the game.
drive to room.

i just don't think you're going to be able to avoid extra expenses trying to get on campus early, get back early. if you didn't have to get back on a schedule, you could do all that for much less expense.

another option, and this is what i have been doing for at least 10 years, is park north of campus. yes, it's the ghetto but, there will be PLENTY of people around going back to their cars so, safety in numbers as long as you choose your spot wisely. if you plan to hang out on campus for any amount of time after the game, nix that. you want to be walking back with everyone else. i can often find a free spot or at most, pay $20.

Nah, at this point in life I'm done driving if it's over about ~6 hours. I've flown and driven to New Orleans a handful of times, and to me it's a no brainer to fly. Just personal preference.

Where can I find more info about the bus from downtown to campus and back? Seems like an intriguing option.
