Now go look at the attrition and let me know where those classes are ranked now. Gerry Dinardo has top 10 recruiting classes, but half of them never made it to campus, 1/4 left.

That makes his performance even that much more pathetic.

Why are you getting pushed around by UCLA and Kentucky?

Same issue with Les. Lots of talent, No coaching.

The one year we had all around good coaching we had the greatest team in college history.

Who will match that, not Dave Aranda! Maybe others

Thing is if the new coach can actually coach and make players better, he doesn’t have to match that.

There isn’t that much difference in the talent level of the top 10 classes. As long as we are in that range, a good coach can compete for championships. A bad one can take top talent and barely keep it above .500

Who would you rather

A guy with too 10-15 talent that consistently is within the top 5
Or a guy with top 5 talent who can’t finish even ranked.

Those recruiting rankings are fools gold. When you sign 1 offensive lineman with 4 other 5 stars at the skill positions that’s only a top class on paper. Our oline and linebacker recruiting has been subpar the last few years and it shows.

LSU had two coaches who were not really X’s and O’s type coaches but them baws could recruit well. I just wanted to know if our new X’s and O’s guy can do the same. It’s a simple question that needs asking. Kiffin can, Aranda can, but what about Fickell and Tucker?

We’ve had 16 top-10 recruiting classes since 2002. 10 in top-5. All under 3 different coaches. LSU recruits well, regardless of coach. We’ll be fine.

Recruiting rankings are meaningless if you can't develop the talent.

If LSU hires the best possible coach the recruits will come.

Great national recruiting rankings, but not nearly enough offensive linemen.

Even if this year was going much better and Orgeron weren't fired, next year's team was going to have an O-Line problem. The new coach will at least have the opportunity to get some o-linemen through the transfer portal exemption (yes, that could have bailed an unfired Orgeron as well--LSU is getting lucky because that exemption was not guaranteed or even expected).

but LSU leads the nation with most top 10 wins since 2017. I do believe O was the coach for all those years .
This was a ? On cbs a few wks back , even the college gurus got it wrong , of coarse they all was sure it was bama , not even close . The answer was LSU 13 , bama / Georgia 9

Now compare our losses to Bama and UGA

Both were well known for being great recruiters, that was not always the case at LSU. Would like to see top 5 talent continue to come here. SEC is much more competitive recruiting wise. What is your problem besides being an arrogant POS?
